Chapter 1
Getting into a fight with my boyfriend to the point that he called the police-the whole process was actually quite simple.
Today is June 26th, Li Bin’s birthday. After five years of dating, our relationship had smoothly entered a stage where we had nothing left to say to each other.
But five years isn’t a short time. In an effort to save this barely-there relationship, I cooked a full table of dishes and waited for him to get off work.
When he saw the food, he wasn’t interested. I told him to wash his hands, and he casually placed his phone face down on the table.
That subtle move triggered my intuition.
I flipped the phone over, and right then a message popped up: Baby, are you home yet?
…Home? Not only is he home, we’re also finished.
A cheater’s intuition never fails. My veins bulged, and so did Li Bin, who rushed out from the kitchen.
He lunged at me like a wild dog bursting out of a cage, trying to snatch his phone.
I didn’t let go. He used all his strength, and we started wrestling, violently crashing into and overturning all the tables, chairs, and stools.
I asked him, “Are you really going to hit me?”
As soon as I finished speaking, I saw Li Bin jump up and swing his arm in a slap across my face.
With that force, he really wanted me dead. Well, how could I let him walk away unscathed, after all, we did love each other once.
I grabbed a stool, and the two of us fought in the house until the world seemed to turn upside down.
In the end, I won with sheer perseverance. I’m someone with determination in everything I do. Although there was a huge difference in our strength, my sincere desire to go down together with him made up for it.
But he still had his baby to be affectionate with, so there was no need for him to go down with me. So, he called the police.
After understanding the situation, the police suggested that we reconcile. He didn’t take sides, because our battle scars were equally obvious. Even though Li Bin started it, I had beaten him until he was covered in blood.
Li Bin was dumbfounded, not a single spot on him was intact. His face full of shock, you could tell he was still hoping the police would uphold justice for him and give me hell.
He didn’t just want me dead; he wanted it to be worth less than nothing.
I watched him flail around with a smile, only to be scolded by the police: “You started it, hitting the young lady like this. If she fights back and wants to pursue it, that’s justifiable self-defense. And you think you’re in the right? If you don’t want to reconcile, then we’ll follow procedure.”
You could visibly see Li Bin deflate. If we followed procedure, there would be a record of fighting and disorderly conduct on both our files, and neither of us could escape it.
He had a pretty decent job and had no other choice but to agree to reconcile.
He said to me, “I don’t blame you for hitting so hard. I’ll pay my own medical bills. After all these years, let’s just call it even after today.”
With one sentence, he tried to put me in my place three times. Apparently, my stability during our relationship gave him the illusion that he was a notch above me.
To give him a chance to reevaluate me, I said solemnly to the police, “I don’t agree to reconcile.”
Skipping past the shock and denial of being cheated on, I went straight to anger and attack.
Li Bin was clearly shaken by my aggression. In his fantasy of being the main male lead, there was never a character like me who was so stubborn.
He panicked and started trying to appeal to my emotions.
I told him to get lost.
He thought I was being irrational.
I agreed with him. I wasn’t just irrational-my adrenaline was through the roof.
He told me not to go crazy.
I declared passionately: You haven’t seen what real crazy looks like.
He grew hesitant. I was just too stubborn and unyielding.
Our conversation ended in a deadlock.
Because I refused to reconcile, the police told us both to go get a medical examination.
After leaving the Police Station, I went alone to get my car, snapped a selfie at the entrance, posted it to my Moments, blocked a few people, and announced my breakup with Li Bin to the world.
Forget making peace and leaving gracefully-no way.
If you dare to cheat and raise your hand at me, I’ll even take the top of your head off.
