Breaking Up Was a Choice I Planned All Along - Chapter 12
He glanced at his phone, hurriedly came over, and tried to grab my shoulder, but I sidestepped to avoid him.
“Pianpian, this time it’s my fault. But believe me, there’s really nothing between me and her.”
I took a step back. “No need to explain. I’m here today to quit the student union.”
He stared at me for a moment, his tone softening as he began to coax me gently. “Pianpian, you’ve been in the student union for three years now. Putting me aside, you must have feelings for the student union itself. Matters of the heart can be discussed later, but quitting the union-don’t act impulsively.”
“Look at Li Wei, Tiantian-they all have a good relationship with you. Besides, the school’s Top Ten Singers event is coming up soon. The office team can’t manage without you.”
I didn’t even realize I was supposedly that indispensable. Li Wei came from the office team; even without me, she could handle things just fine. As for Ying Tiantian-well.
“Ying Tiantian likes you, dislikes me, and always makes snide remarks to put me down. Don’t you know that? Or do you know and just pretend not to?”
Zhou Jingnan stared at me, his lips pressing together-a subconscious habit of his when he was nervous. “Pianpian, I just think she’s irrelevant.”
It had taken me so long to let go of my feelings for Zhou Jingnan, but now, I was resolute.
“Zhou Jingnan, I want to quit the student union. You know I joined the student union just to spend more time with you. But now that we’ve broken up, staying here will only make it harder for me.”
“I’ve imagined countless beautiful futures with you, but I never thought this would be how we’d end.”
“Jingnan, I’m leaving.”
He stood there struggling, his eyes gradually reddening, but in the end, he didn’t step forward to stop me.
I walked past him and opened the door.
Ying Tiantian was outside, her face pale. When she saw me come out, she shot me a vicious glare.
