As I stepped out of the cafeteria, the sunlight outside was just perfect.

Yuanyuan clutched her stomach pitifully and sidled up to me. “Pianpian, let’s go to the food street. I didn’t eat enough.”

Honestly, neither did I. I had been too busy bantering earlier.

Someone behind us interjected, “Excuse me, could you tell me how to get to the stationery store?”

The voice was crisp and clean, with a soft, whisper-like tone to it. Very pleasant to hear.

I turned around to look-it was the person Chen Manman cared about.

I’ve never had a good impression of anyone around Chen Manman, but if this guy was handsome enough, I might be willing to upgrade my negative impression to neutral.

“We’re heading to the food street. The food street and the stationery store are in the same direction. Want to come with us?”

“Thank you,” he replied, agreeing to join us.

I walked at the back of the group, watching Yuanyuan chat with the guy.

The guy had a tall, upright posture and sharp, defined features.

I had to admit-Chen Manman’s taste in men was impeccable.

Zhou Jingnan was like that. And now, this guy was too.

Polished manners, articulate speech-he clearly came from a good family.

As we walked, Yuanyuan’s little mouth kept chattering non-stop the entire way.

Suddenly, she turned her head to glance at me, then turned back to ask the guy, “Hey, what’s your relationship with that girl earlier?”

I couldn’t help but perk up my ears.

“You mean Chen Manman?”

“Yeah.”

The voice ahead paused for a few seconds. I looked up, only to accidentally meet the guy’s gaze for a brief moment. His dark eyes held an unreadable emotion.

He spoke clearly, enunciating each word.

“Just classmates. Not very close.”

Girls are truly emotional creatures. Watching his lips move as he spoke-just five or six seconds-I suddenly found him much more agreeable than before.
