Chapter 11
During breakfast.
The last shred of memory before the blackout suddenly emerged.
Last night, my friends saw me drunk beyond measure, crying my heart out.
They took it upon themselves to grab my phone and tried to call Xu Siyan.
In my daze, I clutched her phone.
“Don’t call him, we broke up.”
Word spread quickly.
Soon, I received a call from my best friend.
The first thing she asked was, “Are you really willing to?”
We were desk mates in high school.
Over the years, my attempts to hide my feelings were all too obvious to her.
When we graduated from high school, she took a photo of me.
She went to great lengths to include Xu Siyan in the background.
That was the first photo of him and me together.
I made a peace sign in front of the camera, while he walked past behind me, leaving just a silhouette.
Just a silhouette, yet I cherished it dearly.
At the time, my best friend said, “This is my graduation gift to you.”
Now, she regretfully mentioned that the wedding gift she meticulously prepared could no longer be given.
I asked what it was, but never got an answer.
But thinking about it, it doesn’t matter anymore.
