Bloody Wedding: Fatal Favoritism - Chapter 23
Fu Liuchuan’s eyes snapped open.
The room was empty. There was no one there but him.
But for a fleeting moment, he had distinctly felt Liuliu’s presence.
He had heard her faint, distant voice say, “Goodbye.”
In the end, he attributed it to one thing:
He missed her too much.
Everyone knew how much Fu Liuliu’s “accidental death” had affected the young head of the Fu Group.
So when autumn arrived, a strange woman with a little girl blocked his car.
“Xiaochuan, you should know me. I’m your Auntie Su. Your father was going to introduce us.” The woman forced a gentle smile. “I’ve heard about what happened. You’re such a sentimental child. That Fu Liuliu wasn’t even related to you by blood. If she’s dead, she’s dead. Look at Lingling, she’s your real sister.”
As she spoke, she pushed the little girl named Lingling forward.
Fu Liuchuan noticed that her young features did bear some resemblance to his own.
But what did that matter?
He smiled, his eyes devoid of any warmth. “I only have one sister, and she’s dead.”
“What, you want your daughter to go and join her?”
The woman exploded in a string of curses.
Fu Liuchuan looked away, his expression blank, and started the car again.
The car’s music system was logged into Fu Liuliu’s account. She must have set it up one of the times she rode in this car.
Fu Liuchuan rarely drove this car and had only just discovered it.
He opened Fu Liuliu’s most played playlist.
The last song was “The Clock That Ticks Backwards.”
When the song finished, it didn’t immediately loop back to the beginning.
Instead, Fu Liuliu’s familiar voice filled the car.
“Can listening to ‘The Clock That Ticks Backwards’ ten thousand times really take you back to the past? If it can, Fu Liuliu, please go back to when you were eighteen, and be brave just once, no matter the consequences.”
Fu Liuchuan pulled the car over to the side of the road and stared out the window at the sky, where vast, blood-red clouds seeped into the horizon.
Suddenly, he began to cry.
