Chapter 19
I held Jay, who was covered in blood, and sobbed uncontrollably.
“I’m sorry, it’s my fault. If I hadn’t come, Qing Xuan wouldn’t have come either, and you could have avenged Miss Yunxi…”
“You did nothing wrong…”
Jay grasped my hand, barely managing a weak smile:
“Remember, you were never wrong before, and you’re not wrong now.”
“This time, it was my mistake for involving you. But did you see? I’ve already crippled most of their cultivation; they’ll live a fate worse than death. I’ve avenged her, and I have no regrets. Now I must go to her, you must leave, quickly!”
“Too late.” Qing Xuan interrupted us, speaking with a meaningful tone, “Little ghost, I knew you’d be hiding nearby.”
“Jay, given the circumstances, aren’t you going to tell her the truth?”
Jay tightened his grip on my hand.
Bixia had already seen through the mystery and asked in shock:
“Why does this little ghost bear some resemblance to Yunxi? But wasn’t Yunxi’s soul completely destroyed by us back then?”
Qing Xuan sneered:
“Well, you underestimated her Immeasurable Lotus Lamp. When her three souls and seven spirits were scattered, the fragments of the Lotus Lamp actively absorbed them.”
“Later, Jay helped me overcome my tribulation, in exchange for me reconstructing Yunxi’s soul. However, one of the three souls was shattered too severely, unable to merge, which is why she lost her memory.”
“What? So she really is Yunxi?!”
Everyone turned to look at me.
I stood there, stunned for a while, before lowering my head to look at Jay.
Jay’s face was gradually becoming transparent, yet he was gazing deeply at me:
“I had decided not to let you remember those painful memories, but unfortunately, things didn’t go as I wished.”
“Perhaps this is fate.”
As he spoke, he opened his palm, and the dazzling Nine Revolutions Soul Stabilizing Pearl spun and transformed into a wisp of pure soul.
