Chapter 7
“Sit.”
Entering the office, Zhou Jingcheng greeted me as if I were a guest.
I glanced at the sofa, where several adorable plush toys were piled up.
The cabinet that once held books was now a snack shelf.
The door to the private resting room was ajar.
Through the gap, I could see the casually placed women’s clothing at the foot of the bed.
Zhou Jingcheng looked at me, his gaze unfathomable.
Feeling uneasy, I withdrew my gaze.
“The agreement?”
Zhou Jingcheng handed me the divorce agreement from the desk.
While I was reviewing it, his gaze remained fixed on me.
“We’ve been together for so many years, what I owe you won’t be little. You can choose any car or house, and if you have other requests, feel free to bring them up.”
Is this considered compensation?
That was the only thought that crossed my mind.
But it didn’t affect my browsing speed at all.
In the agreement, what Zhou Jingcheng offered me was more than I could spend in several lifetimes.
He was always generous and wouldn’t be stingy about such matters.
“No need. Just these, and the villa I’m living in now, just give it to me.”
I said.
Efficiently, I signed my name and handed it back to Zhou Jingcheng.
Zhou Jingcheng seemed to have more to say to me.
Because I saw his mouth open, only to close again due to my actions.
He looked at my gesture.
He seemed a bit incredulous that the whole process was over in less than five minutes.
I stood up.
“The divorce cooling-off period is one month. I’ll contact you after a month.”
With that, I turned to leave.
“Shen Yue.”
“Anything else?”
“Don’t you have anything to say to me?”
Zhou Jingcheng’s brow furrowed slightly.
His eyes seemed puzzled, and his tone carried an incredulous probing.
I looked at him in confusion, seeing that he was genuinely asking.
After thinking for a moment, I seriously countered.
“At this point, you don’t expect me to wish you and Lin Manman a long and happy marriage, and many children, do you?”
Though I’ve let go.
I’m not generous to that extent.
“…”
The person in front of me was speechless.
Zhou Jingcheng’s gaze towards me seemed like a deep pool, emotions unclear.
As I reached for the doorknob, his voice came again from behind.
“Shen Yue, in the end, it’s me who wronged you. I’ll continue to cover your mother’s medical expenses.”
