Chapter 6
These two voices were unmistakably familiar.
After all, I had heard them over the phone just last night.
I saw Lin Manman holding a folder, bouncing along beside Zhou Jingcheng.
The charming and beautiful young girl was full of youthful exuberance, bright and bold.
Beside her, Zhou Jingcheng slightly tilted his head to listen to her.
Who knows what Lin Manman was saying again.
The smile at the corner of Zhou Jingcheng’s mouth deepened a bit.
“Hey…”
The young girl saw me walking directly towards Zhou Jingcheng and didn’t manage to stop me.
“Zhou Jingcheng.”
Upon hearing my voice.
Both of them turned to look at me simultaneously.
I clearly saw a flash of surprise and astonishment on Zhou Jingcheng’s face.
I asked Zhou Jingcheng if he had finished his meeting.
If he had, then it was time to discuss our matters.
“I came at ten, and I’ve been waiting for you for two hours.”
“Who told you I was in a meeting?”
Unexpectedly, Zhou Jingcheng frowned and asked in return.
I was taken aback, instinctively looking at him.
The confusion in Zhou Jingcheng’s eyes didn’t seem feigned.
We both realized almost simultaneously.
I said nothing.
Zhou Jingcheng’s gaze had already swept over the entire office with a serious intensity.
Everyone in the office lowered their heads, not daring to speak.
The young girl who brought me here shrank back even more, lowering her head.
But before she did, she quickly glanced at Lin Manman.
Of course.
In the entire office, the only one who could act so “imperiously” was Lin Manman.
“I forgot to tell everyone the meeting was canceled, it wasn’t intentional. I’m sorry, President Zhou.”
Lin Manman pursed her lips, innocently raising her eyes to look at Zhou Jingcheng.
He always indulged her.
So this time, he said nothing.
“Come in.”
He looked at me, brushing the matter aside.
As I passed by Lin Manman, I saw the pride and provocation rising in her eyes.
