A Tattoo That Can't Be Removed - Chapter 1
The rain in Jiang City had been particularly heavy these past few days. When Wei Yan returned home, water dripped steadily from his umbrella.
As usual, I had a dry towel ready.
He lowered his head, his starry eyes fixed on me without blinking.
“Did you miss me?”
I rubbed the towel through his short black hair, and inadvertently glanced at that tattoo again.
It was a small mark, like a blot of ink forcibly placed on a pristine sheet of paper.
Wei Yan had always been a model student, the kind who shouldn’t have anything to do with tattoos.
“Someday, get it removed,” I pointed at the tattoo.
It took him a moment to respond, his fingers lightly touching it, eyes still glistening with moisture.
“Alright.”
He was pretty casual about it.
“So, did you miss me?” he steered the conversation back.
“No,” I opened my mouth, but still answered.
He just laughed, his eyes curving into crescents, and pulled me in to kiss my forehead.
Then he draped the towel over his shoulder and headed to the bathroom.
I stayed there, watching his back, thinking about what his old classmate had told me that afternoon.
Wei Yan’s ex-girlfriend had once attempted suicide because of him.
