A Strange Transmigration Novel - Chapter 5
Chapter 5
Shi Xu never introduced me to his friends, nor did he ever take me to any banquets.
Normally, someone should have notified me about the White Moonlight’s return.
But now, I could only find out about such a thing through the push notifications of big data algorithms.
I felt a bit sad.
He didn’t treat me like one of his own at all; he didn’t even tell me about such a joyous occasion as his White Moonlight returning.
After returning home, I gave him a call and asked, “Are you coming back today?”
Through the receiver, I heard the sound of a horn and the whistling of wind from a car traveling at high speeds.
He was on the road.
His voice betrayed no emotion. “I’ll be back late. No need to cook for me.”
As expected, he was off to pick her up from the airport.
I had the chef prepare one last grand meal for me.
I even opened a bottle of seven-figure red wine from Shi Xu’s wine cellar.
Once I had eaten and drunk my fill, I had the nanny help me pack my luggage.
With a face full of concern, the nanny asked me, “Follower, what’s wrong?”
As soon as she asked, I started crying.
I cried, but I was faking it.
I shook my head without a word, tears streaming silently. “I’m leaving. Don’t tell Shi Xu.”
Even though I knew she definitely would tell him.
I still had to give her those instructions.
It made me look quite tragic and heroic.
After my luggage was packed, I left a suicide note for Shi Xu.
[I have a terminal illness. Treatment is too painful, so I’ve decided to just die. I heard you’re going to pick her up and bring her back to the country. I wish you both happiness. I’m going to die now; if there’s anything, wait until my next life to talk about it.]
Carrying enough luggage to fill a three-bedroom apartment and my tens of millions in savings, I left that heartbreaking place.
I never expected that later on, Shi Xu would go mad trying to find me.
Clutching my suitcase, I wandered aimlessly down the street, waiting for the System to arrive.
The System heard my prayer and appeared.
It said: “Turn around first.”
I did as told. “Why?”
“Because you were just heading toward the hospital.”
Me: “…”
It seemed it had developed PTSD regarding psychiatrists.
The System said it would help me achieve social death for a few days.
During these few days, with the support of its buff, no one would be able to find me.
I asked weakly, “Why only a few days?”
“Because I was attacked by that doctor. I can’t go around attacking others anymore.”
Boohoo.
I was reborn.
Reborn to the moment the System first appeared.
