Chapter 14
Although I hadn’t thought about what to say to him, I desperately wanted to see Jian Yu right now.
I looked around but didn’t see him. I messaged him to ask where he was, and after getting a reply, I went to the underground parking garage as invited.
The underground parking garage was empty, and the temperature was a bit low. I involuntarily rubbed my arms and tentatively called out:
“Jian Yu?”
Several horror movie scenes flashed through my mind. Fortunately, Jian Yu responded.
He emerged from the side, looking no different than usual, his tone as indifferent as ever:
“Lin Dong,” he said, “Now, turn around and go back to the venue.”
I froze: Didn’t he tell me to come here? What kind of act was this?
Before I could ask my question, a voice came:
“This isn’t quite what we agreed on, my dear brother.”
Jian Yu was forced to take two steps forward. It turned out someone had been holding a knife to his lower back the whole time.
Two more figures appeared behind me, blocking my escape route.
Recognizing the person’s face, I was shocked: “Jian Sheng?”
How was he here? Shouldn’t he be safely tucked away abroad?
Seemingly reading my thoughts, Jian Sheng laughed: “Yes, I’m back, to reclaim everything that belongs to me.”
My toes curled twice.
Damn show-off.
“Originally, I intended to bother you after a while, but since you’ve delivered yourself to me, I won’t stand on ceremony.
“Now, take off your clothes, raise your hands, and turn around once.”
I was speechless. What country did he think this was? Did he think I’d be carrying a gun?
Yet, I obediently unbuttoned my jacket, took it off, and tossed it aside, my phone in its pocket going with it.
Then I raised my hands and dutifully turned around, indicating I had nothing.
Jian Sheng was still not satisfied and ordered, “Kneel.”
Jian Yu subtly shook his head at me, but Jian Sheng’s knife went in another inch. He repeated, “I said kneel.”
Hearing his muffled grunt, my heart panicked for a moment, and I immediately knelt without hesitation.
Jian Sheng threw Jian Yu and the knife to someone else, took a half-full glass of red wine, and walked towards me.
“Old friends meeting, we should have a drink. Unfortunately, I didn’t prepare a glass for you, so you’ll have to make do with drinking like this.”
As he spoke, the wine poured over my head, slowly soaking my shirt.
“I’ll never forget those eyes. You broke my arm back then. Never thought this day would come, did you?
“Don’t think I don’t know, saying you didn’t like me, but it was really just you wanting to get even for him.
“He truly raised a good dog.”
That year, Jian Yu’s broken left leg wasn’t an accident. I personally heard Jian Sheng boasting to his friends that he was the one who pushed him down the stairs.
On the surface, I mocked Jian Yu for his bad luck, but secretly, I was furious. I beat Jian Sheng up, breaking his right hand, the one he used to push.
Didn’t he say you couldn’t recognize someone if their lower face was covered? The old ancestors’ methods aren’t working.
I said, “That incident was my own doing, it has nothing to do with him. If you have a problem, come at me.”
He walked behind me, grabbed one of my wrists, and stomped on my back, forcing me to bend over.
My arm was forced backward.
“You broke one of my hands back then; now you return one of yours. Fair enough, right?”
It hurt so much my breath hitched, and I couldn’t help but gasp.
The force behind me suddenly lightened.
Jian Sheng casually tossed the wine glass, then caressed my back muscles, which were taut from pain.
He seemed to understand something, his tone turning teasing:
“No wonder the Omegas I found couldn’t get close to him. Turns out he wants your kind. Interesting.”
