Chapter 15
He let go of my hand.
“Though it doesn’t fit my aesthetic, I’ll reluctantly give it a try. After all, I want to see what kind of expression my good brother will make.”
However, the moment he released me, I picked up the shattered glass shards he had just thrown, and abruptly stood up.
He was still stepping on my back, and my sudden movement unbalanced him, making him lose the optimal reaction time.
By the time everyone realized what was happening, the situation had reversed.
The cold glass pressed against Jian Sheng’s neck. A drop of blood fell, terrifying him.
But actually, that was the blood from my hand gripping the shards.
“Lin Dong, let me go, we can talk this over,” he tried to say calmly.
“There’s nothing to talk about,” I said coldly. “Let him come over, or I’ll stab your boss right now.”
If I just slashed, he might survive with good luck.
But if I stabbed, I guaranteed he would die.
“No, no, Lin Dong, you don’t understand. My father is dead. According to his will, everything he owns will be mine.”
He was panicking, trying to convince me.
“After today, Jian Yu will be nothing. Do you understand? He’s nothing.
“You sided with him before, and I admit you gambled and won. But people don’t always win. Now it’s time to choose again.”
I rolled my eyes, “Come on, stop showing off. When your dad was alive, you two combined couldn’t beat Jian Yu. Now that he’s dead, you want to be on screen?”
My patience ran out. I lightly sliced, avoiding the carotid artery and jugular vein.
The cold sensation made him panic, tiny beads of blood welled up from the wound, and Jian Sheng screamed:
“Let him go, quickly, let him go!”
I then ordered the people behind me to clear a path, holding him hostage, and retreated step by step with Jian Yu to the elevator door.
All the way, he kept babbling about how I would definitely regret it.
I didn’t listen to his nonsense. The moment the door opened, I kicked him in the butt. As everyone rushed to surround him, I immediately dodged into the elevator.
It wasn’t until the door completely closed and the elevator slowly ascended that I finally breathed a sigh of relief. Then I immediately checked Jian Yu’s injury on his lower back.
Taking off his dark jacket, a patch of crimson almost burned my eyes.
I pressed his wound with my clothes. Fortunately, the knife hadn’t hit a major blood vessel.
Jian Yu’s face was pale, but his tone was still understated: “Don’t worry, he wanted to lock me in a mental institution, torture me, humiliate me. How could he let me die?”
“Crazy, I think he’s the one who should be in a mental institution,” I cursed. The thought of Jian Yu almost dying because of him made me extremely anxious.
Upon returning to the venue, we didn’t attract anyone else’s attention, because the announcement of Jian’s father’s death and the reading of his will were taking place on stage.
In front of everyone, the lawyer announced:
After his death, his son, Jian Yu, would inherit all of his assets.
Jian Sheng, who had rushed back, happened to hear this and shrieked, “This is impossible!”
