Chapter 5
Chapter 5
The next day, I packed my bags early.
I waited until Bai Hezhi arrived before leaving the house.
Shen Jincheng personally bought my ticket and saw me onto the long-distance bus.
I waved goodbye to him.
As soon as the bus left the city limits, I got off, walked back into town, and headed straight for the photo studio on the west side of the city.
“Boss, do you have any video cameras here?”
The owner smiled and asked, “Little girl, are you planning to record a wedding?”
I shook my head. I was planning to film something far more scandalous.
Words alone wouldn’t be enough; I wanted that dog-couple’s schools and workplaces to know exactly what they had done!
To my surprise, the owner said the camcorder had been rented out and wouldn’t be back for two or three days.
He asked if I could wait.
I frowned. I could wait, but I was afraid that any delay might lead to complications.
Suddenly, I remembered something!
Around this time in my previous life, a young man from Gangcheng had stopped me on the street. He said I had a good look and asked if I wanted to try acting.
He told me he would be leaving on August 22nd, and if I was interested, I could go to the Jinting Hotel for an interview.
After going home, I mentioned this to Shen Jincheng.
Shen Jincheng told me I was just a waitress with a middle school education-uncultured and looking like a country bumpkin.
How could such a stroke of good luck possibly fall into my lap?
He claimed the man was definitely a con artist looking to steal my money or take advantage of me. He forbade me from going and told me to stay home and focus on raising the child.
Back then, I was too young. I actually thought he loved me and was looking out for my best interests.
Many years later, I saw that man from Gangcheng on television.
He was the famous Director Lu Junrong. Originally an actor, he had been crowned Best Actor twice and had cultivated many superstars.
While catching Shen Jincheng and Bai Hezhi in the act was important, the audition opportunity was even more vital.
So this time,
I was going. I had to go.
