Xiaotan in His Heart - Chapter 2
Once we entered the room, I helped him sit down.
Only then did I finally have a chance to study his face properly.
Servants like us always had to bow our heads in front of our masters. When would I ever have had the chance to stare at him before?
He really was beautiful.
His nose was high and straight, and his lips were thin and naturally red, nearly the same shade as his wedding robes—so vivid they were almost prettier than a woman’s.
A strip of red cloth covered his eyes, the color striking against his pale skin.
I licked my lips and called softly,
“Husband.”
My voice sounded exactly like that of his former fiancée, Lin Jingru.
They had been engaged for years, but both had always observed proper boundaries and rarely spent time together in private.
As long as I imitated Lin Jingru’s gentle, shy manner, with my voice on top of that, Xie Rongyu shouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
The corner of his mouth curved upward.
He reached a hand toward me.
His fingers were long and finely jointed—prettier than hands in a painting.
I couldn’t help looking down at my own.
My fingers were rough and covered in calluses.
Miss Lin had been pampered all her life. If he touched my hand, wouldn’t I give myself away immediately?
An idea came to me.
I pulled out a handkerchief and placed the silk between our palms before taking his hand.
He paused.
Then he gave a soft laugh.
“We’re already married. Why is Ru’er still so shy?”
His arm tightened slightly.
In the next instant, he pulled me straight into his embrace.
Xie Rongyu’s body was tense too.
Apparently, he was nervous.
He raised one hand, his long fingers brushing several times over my cheek.
I held my breath, terrified he might notice something wrong.
He hadn’t been blind for long.
Surely he couldn’t identify a face by touch yet…
Sure enough, when his fingers reached my lips and picked up a trace of rouge, he stopped.
His voice was soft and gentle.
“Ru’er, now that I’ve lost my sight… are you truly willing to marry me?”
Without hesitation, I answered, “I am.”
He tilted his head as though “listening” to my reaction, his smile growing warmer.
“You won’t regret it?”
I wiped the drool from the corner of my mouth and shook my head.
“I won’t.”
The instant I finished speaking, his handsome face leaned closer.
I’d coveted him for ages, but I’d never even held a man’s hand before.
His breath washed over me.
Startled, I squeezed my eyes shut.
Something soft touched my lips.
Xie Rongyu had kissed me!
So this was what being kissed felt like…
How could one little kiss on the lips make my entire body go weak?
His arm tightened around my waist.
Suddenly, my feet left the floor.
He had lifted me into his arms.
Xie Rongyu might have been blind, but he was astonishingly strong.
He chuckled.
“My lady, where is the bed?”
I pressed my face against his chest and answered in a tiny voice,
“…Two steps ahead and to your left.”
He took exactly two steps, reached the bedside, lowered me onto the mattress, and leaned over me.
I thought he was finally going to do something.
But all he did was feel his way through removing my outer robe, pull the covers over me, and obediently lie down at my side.
When his hands had brushed against my body while undressing me, he’d even flinched.
A blush spread over his cheeks, making him even more beautiful.
He said, “My eyes haven’t recovered yet. I can’t even see your face. Perhaps… we shouldn’t consummate the marriage tonight.”
I immediately panicked.
How could that be allowed?
Right now, he thought I was Lin Jingru.
Once his sight returned and he discovered he’d married the wrong woman, what if he got furious and cast me out?
A man this exquisite was a rare treasure.
Every extra night I managed to sleep with him was a win.
I rolled over and straddled him.
“Husband, how can we waste our wedding night?”
Feeling the sudden weight on top of him, he frowned and reached out.
His hand landed directly on my backside.
Xie Rongyu: “…”
I was very considerate.
“Husband, you’re tired. Just lie there. I’ll do the moving.”
Xie Rongyu made two strangled sounds.
His face had already turned as red as a ripe pomegranate.
With clumsy hands, I tugged open his inner robe.
His bare chest appeared before me, and I couldn’t help clicking my tongue.
His body was nothing like the laborers who worked with their robes hanging open.
His skin was pale and clean, his chest firm, with the kind of strength that seemed ready to explode beneath the surface.
It made a person desperately want to touch him…
The moment my fingers met his skin, Xie Rongyu let out a muffled groan.
Even his ears and neck turned red.
Trying not to laugh, I bent down and whispered beside his ear,
“Husband, here I come.”
Unfortunately, though I’d secretly studied several pages of erotic illustrations beforehand, I never quite understood the technique.
After fumbling around for ages, both of us were sweating from exhaustion.
Eventually, Xie Rongyu couldn’t take it anymore.
With one turn, he reversed our positions.
The end of his blindfold hung over my face, swaying slightly with each breath.
“My lady… let me.”
Dazed by his beauty, I answered dreamily,
“All right…”
The second half of the word disappeared into his mouth.
His hand found my waist and clamped tightly around me, as though he meant to fuse us together down to the bone.
Like thunder striking wildfire, we went up in flames.
