Chapter 7
Pei Su’s body stiffened.
In the darkness of night, I couldn’t see his expression, but I heard his trembling voice call out, “Yuniang?”
“It’s me.”
I moved a little closer to him. Pei Su lifted his hand, his fingertips brushing over my cheek as if to confirm something.
He had just come back from outside, his body still carrying the chill of the night dew, his fingertips icy cold.
At his touch, I couldn’t help but shiver.
As if waking from a dream, he withdrew his hand at once, as though my skin had burned him.
After a moment, he asked in a low voice, “Why are you here?”
I got straight to the point, answering as if it were only natural: “I want to sleep with you.”
The person before me trembled violently.
The moon peeked out from behind the clouds, its light streaming through the lattice window, pure and bright upon the floor.
In the clear moonlight, I saw Pei Su’s entire face flush suddenly red.
A rosy color filled his eyes, misted with moisture.
When he spoke again, his voice was astonishingly hoarse.
“Do you know what you’re saying?”
I clasped his wrist and kissed his trembling lips with earnestness.
“I do.”
