Vows in Vain, Ten Years, One Betrayal - Chapter 15
The message was sent.
Zhou Xuyan slumped onto the sofa, suddenly covering his face and laughing silently.
His friends sat nearby, exchanging uneasy glances, but no one dared to intervene.
These past few days, he had been searching for Lin Bihan like a madman.
Though he hadn’t made a public scene, word had gradually spread within their circle.
Tao Yuan had her own misfortunes too. It was said she was sent to the hospital too late, and her uterus couldn’t be saved.
Yet Zhou Xuyan still refused to let her off the hook.
A few days ago, she was expelled from school, and her parents, ashamed of her, severed ties.
Now she was barely surviving, walking on eggshells.
She probably prayed day and night for Lin Bihan to return quickly.
So Zhou Xuyan could finally spare her.
But Lin Bihan seemed to have vanished into thin air.
There was no trace of her.
“Brother Yan, was that sister-in-law who sent the message just now?”
Someone mustered the courage to ask.
Zhou Xuyan leaned against the sofa, his eyes closed, remaining silent for a long time.
Just when everyone thought he wouldn’t respond, Zhou Xuyan suddenly spoke: “She really doesn’t want me anymore.”
The atmosphere froze for a moment.
“No way, you two have been together for so many years.”
“Once sister-in-law calms down, you should apologize properly. She’s soft-hearted; she’ll forgive you.”
Zhou Xuyan simply shook his head. “You don’t understand her.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the door was suddenly kicked open from the outside.
It slammed heavily against the wall, producing a loud bang.
Everyone jumped in shock and turned to look.
Zhou Xuyan slowly sat up straight.
He squinted slightly, and when he saw who it was, his eyebrows raised, and he let out a mocking laugh.
“So it’s you, Chen Jingyao.”
Chen Jingyao didn’t respond, nor did he glance at anyone else in the room.
He walked straight up to Zhou Xuyan.
With one swift kick, he overturned the coffee table, then grabbed Zhou Xuyan by the collar.
No one expected such a seemingly slender man to possess such strength.
The half-drunk Zhou Xuyan was forcibly yanked up and slammed against the wall.
“What, want to fight?”
Zhou Xuyan sneered, his tone dripping with malice.
But before he could finish his sentence, Chen Jingyao’s fist landed squarely on his face.
“Zhou Xuyan, I told you five years ago.”
“If you treat her poorly, I won’t let you off.”
Zhou Xuyan turned his face away, crimson blood streaming from his nose.
He nonchalantly wiped it away with his hand, then threw a heavy punch in return.
The room descended into chaos.
Bottles shattered, chairs toppled.
The drunken Zhou Xuyan quickly fell behind, getting kicked to the ground by Chen Jingyao.
Both men were injured, Zhou Xuyan’s face completely disfigured.
Chen Jingyao’s hand was slashed open, blood dripping continuously.
“Who the hell do you think you are? My wife and I-what gives you the right to interfere?”
Zhou Xuyan propped one leg against the sofa, his cold laughter echoing.
