Chapter 20
After Julian Thorne left, I got up and headed out the door.
Grace stood by the door, clutching her phone, looking at me eagerly.
“What’s up?”
“Boss, you are just too cool.”
She handed me an ice pack, then looked at me with admiration,
“When you chose me back then, saying you wanted to overthrow Sterling Group and build a new kingdom, I thought you were joking.”
“And that ‘please leave’ just now, I had a vision of Leo Archer.”
“Boss, even though you told the reporters you’re just his boss, the way he looks at you is definitely not innocent.”
As she spoke, she turned on her phone to show me.
I then realized that Leo Archer’s name was trending again.
But this time, it was with me.
“Leo Archer and Victoria Sterling”
“Victoria Sterling is the mysterious owner of Mountain Moon Esports Team”
“Leo Archer becomes a third wheel for love”
“The way he looks at her is definitely not innocent”
“Four trending topics, why didn’t the team’s operations manager notify me?”
I glanced through them, casually pressing the ice pack against my swollen cheek, and looked at Grace,
“Have you done any public opinion management?”
She scratched her head, “Seems like… there’s no need to manage it, because the comments are quite positive.”
I clicked into the comments section and found out she was actually right.
“Victoria Sterling is so beautiful, having such a boss is something Leo Archer must admire.”
“Don’t say their relationship isn’t defined yet, even if it is, in wealthy marriages, they each do their own thing, what’s so strange about that?”
“Seriously, are you reporters blind? Why isn’t anyone interviewing Julian Thorne, that rotten cucumber who cheated dozens of times in four years, and instead focusing on Leo Archer and his sponsor?”
“I trust Victoria Sterling, but not Leo Archer; the way he looks at her is practically gooey.”
Below was a picture from the entrance of that night’s banquet.
Behind us, the hall was brightly lit, and Leo Archer and I stood side by side at the entrance.
I looked calmly at the camera, while he slightly turned his head to look at me.
Whether it was the light or the moonlight falling into his pupils, his gaze towards me appeared especially bright, with a hint of lingering emotion.
From an outsider’s perspective, it looked like this.
I stared at the photo for a while, deliberately ignoring the ripple in my heart, and handed the phone back to Grace.
She looked at me eagerly.
I smiled, “Notify everyone, meeting in forty minutes.”
Normally, such topics wouldn’t be discussed for long.
But I didn’t expect that in the coming period, the discussions about Leo Archer and me would intensify.
Especially after the news of my divorce from Julian Thorne was exposed.
“The sponsor is divorced, Leo Archer, go for it!!”
“I just ship this CP, am I spoiling them too much?”
“How about this, The God, win a championship in the national competition, and we’ll help you chase your wife.”
This comment was liked nearly a hundred thousand times, floating at the top of the hot comments.
I asked Grace, “What’s going on?”
“This kind of trending topic should have cooled down quickly, but a few days ago, the recording of you pleading with Julian Thorne was exposed by someone.”
“There were a lot of people criticizing you in the comments section, but that night, a writer wrote an article about you and Leo Archer.”
Grace looked at me cautiously,
“Saying you two are a crazy clingy puppy and a ruthless, ambitious female powerhouse.”
“Now this kind of persona is really popular, the writing was particularly enchanting, and the atmosphere was vivid, everyone started shipping it intensely, and gradually began supporting…”
“Due to the CP’s popularity, several sponsors have expressed interest in negotiating with our Mountain Moon Esports Team.”
She opened her phone album to show me.
I silently flipped through the pictures she saved, my fingertips pausing on one for a moment.
“Keep your phone safe.”
I said, “Have the team operations keep an eye on it, as long as the public opinion is positive, it’s fine, but if any negative sentiment appears, suppress the heat immediately.”
She nodded repeatedly.
Before leaving, I heard her muttering, “Boss really has a heart of stone, arranging work even in this situation.”
“But, it makes the ship even better, hehe…”
