Three Years of Silent Chase - Chapter 11
The assistant looked at the bickering comments on the screen, her face twisted with laughter.
I was holding the tasks and groupings for later, feeling overwhelmed.
Just thinking about how Kingsley would react when he found out I deliberately put him in a group with Bianca made my head spin. This guy would definitely cause a scene.
But before I could figure out how to appease him, the station director came over personally to back me up.
Then, I saw Bianca finish greeting everyone and confidently walk over to stand beside Kingsley, her smile so wide it seemed stuck on her face.
Kingsley noticed her strange, persistent smile directed at him and his face turned sour.
“Is there something wrong with your eyes?”
Bianca was taken aback. “No… no… I…”
She stammered, trying to talk to Kingsley, but he frowned, glanced at me and the camera, then took a big step to the side.
His disdain was obvious.
Bianca had never been treated like this before, and her eyes immediately reddened.
Bianca’s fans were furious.
[What’s wrong with you, Kingsley? Pretending to be hard to get, what are you avoiding? Can’t you see our Bianca’s eyes are red?]
[Our Bianca is such a sweet and gentle girl, showing you kindness in front of the live camera, and you avoid her? Do you really want to end up in the “chasing wife crematorium”?]
Finally, they lashed out: [How could Bianca ever like a jerk like you!]
That was the last straw, and the SeaSea fans wouldn’t have it.
[Can’t you understand human language? Without Kingsley’s nod, who knows if Bianca is the real deal.]
[Besides, Bianca’s eyes were glued to Kingsley as soon as she came in, biting her lip and fluttering her eyelashes, practically popping her eyes out to attract him. What’s wrong with Kingsley avoiding that?]
[I’ve followed Kingsley for three years, and while he seems cold and temperamental, he’s actually very well-mannered. I think he’s just avoiding suspicion in case the real girlfriend sees.]
[I agree!]
[Is there even a need to think? With Kingsley’s worthless expression in the screenshots, if the real girlfriend came over, would he avoid her? He’d be all over her, kissing her.]
Bianca’s fans saw the logic in their argument.
All they had was a single photo Bianca had posted.
In the end, they could only angrily retort: [Our Bianca would never ride on someone else’s fame!]
[If she’s not with Kingsley, I’ll eat dirt live!]
The SeaSea fans chuckled good-naturedly.
And they couldn’t resist a cheeky comment.
[Wow, you must have quite the appetite.]
They argued like this for over ten minutes, until the celebrities finished reviewing the rules and started grouping.
Taking the megaphone from the assistant, I cleared my throat and began announcing the groups.
“Kingsley… Bianca, you’re in a group.”
I quickly announced, then shrank under Kingsley’s shocked gaze.
I knew this would happen.
Kingsley seemed easygoing and easy to appease, but he was actually very possessive.
Not only about me, but also about how I felt about him.
He distanced himself from Bianca to avoid making me overthink.
But even though he did that, I still put Bianca in his group, ugh…
He didn’t say anything, but his face darkened immediately.
He completed the tasks with all his effort, but there was no communication, no interaction, and he even coldly rejected Bianca’s attempts to hold hands or hug.
The comments erupted into chaos again.
I breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that after three years, Kingsley had matured a lot and would probably hold it together until we got home.
Turns out I was wrong.
During a short break after the third task, just as I came out of the restroom, Kingsley pulled me into the lounge.
He pressed me against the table, his eyes red with grievance: “You… you!”
He repeated it several times but couldn’t bring himself to question me.
Finally, seeing my bewildered face, he had a sudden realization: “Si-Si, you deliberately put us in the same group, could it be… you’re jealous?”
Was… was I?
