The Three Realms' Top Restaurant - chapter 13
I didn’t expect a Little Black Snake to actually help with the dishes; after all, I wouldn’t dare hire a minor.
But after the Little Black Snake swallowed a piece of crispy pork belly, he suddenly took flight.
Even though he could still only move his head and tail, he flew with skill and style.
“If you had this kind of talent, you should have said so earlier, Big Sister!”
He called me “Big Sister” with great enthusiasm. With a flick of his tail, a stream of water descended from the sky, and the Little Black Snake acted like a living faucet, rinsing the dishes and chopsticks.
“It’s just washing dishes! I’m the best at washing dishes!”
Yu Qing frowned and whispered a warning to me, “The Monster Race is cunning and cannot necessarily be trusted.”
I could understand Yu Qing. In their world, the three races were wary and exclusionary toward one another. It was common knowledge that those of a different race could never be fully trusted.
But… but no fan of the 2D world could refuse a monster snake calling them “Big Sister.”
Song Changshan also seemed to have a good impression of the Little Black Snake and helped persuade Yu Qing.
The corners of his mouth curled up as he asked Yu Qing in a very friendly tone, “He’s just a lowly little monster. Do you feel like you can’t protect the Shopkeeper from him?”
Yu Qing shot him a cold glare. The light of her Bright Moon Sword glowed faintly, but she didn’t stop me from keeping the Little Black Snake.
She simply slapped away Song Changshan’s hand, which seemed to have grown onto me, and said something I didn’t quite understand.
“Whatever you’re planning, don’t you dare involve her.”
Song Changshan’s smile remained unchanged, but his voice turned inexplicably cold.
His hand, which had been slapped red by Yu Qing, toyed with the hair ribbon on my head. “I don’t need you to tell me that.”
I tilted my head. “?”
Then, I had a sudden realization.
It turned out Song Changshan really was fulfilling his promise. Not only was he no longer being sarcastic toward Yu Qing, but they were actually getting along quite well.
Look, their relationship was so good they even had little secrets.
As the head of the household, I felt very gratified.
Today was another day of everyone getting along harmoniously.
With Big Hei around, I was completely liberated from manual labor. From then on, I only needed to focus on cooking.
Oh, Big Hei was the Little Black Snake’s name. Originally, I wanted to call him Little Hei, but he believed that a real man couldn’t be called “little.”
So, we unanimously decided to call him Big Hei.
Big Hei washed the dishes quickly and cleanly, solving our restaurant’s final problem.
And so, with my three capable employees, I completely expanded E Le Me, becoming the most famous and successful boss on the entire Gray Street.
Before long, the money and magical treasures we earned could no longer fit in a single warehouse.
Accountant Song asked me if I would consider opening a branch.
“This place is a bit dilapidated. If the Shopkeeper is willing, I saw a restaurant for sale in the Demon Realm a few days ago. It’s much larger; we could move there.”
I hesitated for a moment before shaking my head in refusal.
“No, the Demon Realm won’t do.”
According to the timeline, the big villain should have already become the Annihilation Demon Lord by now. The Demon Realm was far too dangerous.
Yu Qing also said, “The Demon Realm is chaotic. How can we let the Shopkeeper go to such a place?”
“But the Cultivation World is different from the Demon Realm. Although there are conflicts there, it is far safer than the Demon Realm,” she coughed lightly and added with rare initiative, “Didn’t the Shopkeeper like those pastries we had last time? There’s a restaurant for sale near that pastry shop. We could go take a look.”
Are there really that many restaurants going out of business lately?
Those pastries were indeed delicious, and I was a bit tempted.
But soon, I still shook my head and refused. “No, the Cultivation World won’t do either.”
The female protagonist, Yun Hua, was probably busy slapping Tianshan’s face right now. The Cultivation World was a mess and not a suitable place for me to open a shop.
Big Hei, who was hanging on the scabbard of the Bright Moon Sword, looked at Song Changshan and then at Yu Qing.
He remained silent for a moment before forcing himself to join in. “Then how about going to the Monster Domain?”
Yu Qing glanced at him and flicked the clingy snake off her scabbard with a slap.
Song Changshan also asked politely, “To the Monster Domain to see how miserable you’ve been?”
Big Hei: “…”
Big Hei burst into tears.
The Monster Domain was obviously out of the question too. Although the plot hadn’t reached the point where Nan Puyue would seize the throne, it was only a matter of time.
Looking at it this way, Gray Street was actually my most ideal location for a shop.
Thus, the E Le Me branch expansion plan was regretfully shelved.
However, everyone began to argue again over a new problem.
Now that the restaurant had no more empty rooms, they needed to vacate a room to serve as a new warehouse.
The kind-hearted Accountant Song offered to sacrifice himself for the greater good, volunteering his own living quarters.
“I can reluctantly sleep on the floor in the Shopkeeper’s room,” he said considerately to Yu Qing, whose eyes were practically spitting fire. “After all, Miss Yu already has a roommate; it wouldn’t be right to squeeze in another person.”
The roommate he referred to was Big Hei.
Big Hei could only maintain his snake form, and for reasons he refused to disclose, he had mobility issues. In the end, he could only wrap himself around the scabbard of the Bright Moon Sword and let Yu Qing carry him around.
Later, Big Hei simply started sleeping on the pearwood sword rack of the Radiant Moon.
Yu Qing looked like she was about to draw her sword. “Since it’s such a burden, don’t force yourself. I’m willing to sleep on the floor in the Shopkeeper’s room.”
Big Hei was trying to crawl back onto the scabbard when he heard this and raised his head in confusion.
“Then what about me?”
Yu Qing was very cold. “You go sleep with him.”
Big Hei’s tiny mung bean eyes widened into soybeans, filled with horror. “I don’t want to!”
Song Changshan sneered, “As if anyone wants you?”
Being rejected provoked Big Hei, and he slapped the table with the tip of his tail in anger.
Suddenly, he lifted his little head and asked with complete sincerity.
“So why exactly do we need to vacate a room? Don’t you guys have Cosmos Bags?”
Yu Qing: “…”
Song Changshan: “…”
One grabbed the snake’s tail while the other pinched its head. With perfect coordination, they tossed Big Hei out.
Then they turned around and explained with zero sincerity.
“Ah, we forgot.”
As if they actually forgot!
