That night, I had a dream.

It was rare, but I dreamt of my past life, of what happened after my death.

After the cake knife plunged into Lin Jiu’s chest, I died in excruciating pain.

She was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Outside the ward, Jiang Tian grabbed Lu Xinting and questioned him:

“You clearly said you would arrange everything, you would protect her-”

Lu Xinting brushed off his hand and said coldly:

“I already promised her that you would share her. Without my help, could you, a bastard, control the Lu Family? Don’t push your luck.”

Jiang Tian staggered a few steps and retorted:

“Is it you who helped me? Clearly, it was-”

He abruptly stopped mid-sentence.

Lu Xinting sneered, “Yes, it was my sister who helped you, but she’s already dead. The person who threw acid on her, didn’t you personally contact them to arrange it? Forgotten?”

Jiang Tian stood silently in place.

The red light on the emergency room door flickered.

Moments later, Lin Jiu was wheeled out.

The doctor said, “The patient is still not out of danger…”

Jiang Tian’s gaze swept over her pale, bloodless face, trembling slightly.

Then he spoke calmly, “I haven’t forgotten.”

“I’ve never regretted it.”

I woke up from the dream, stumbling into the bathroom, clutching the toilet as I dry-heaved for a long time.

When I finally straightened up, I leaned against the counter and looked at myself in the mirror.

My eyes were bloodshot, filled with hatred.

“No regrets…”

I murmured, “It’s okay, in this life, you will regret it. Regret being born.”

“Just wait and see.”
