Chapter 24
I waited at the door of the changing room for a long time.
But then I heard Lu Tong’s laughter coming from the stairwell nearby.
I pushed open the stairwell door.
Lu Tong was wrapped in Cheng Yu’s denim jacket, talking face to face with him. “That cave you mentioned last time, let’s go check it out together this weekend.”
I slammed the stairwell door shut.
Lu Tong turned and saw me, the smile freezing at the corners of her eyes. “What are you doing here?”
Lu Tong’s questioning and surprised tone made my anger shoot straight to the top of my head.
“What am I doing here? Can’t I be here?”
I yanked the jacket off her shoulders and threw it viciously at Cheng Yu.
“Come home with me!”
“Do you even know that you’re already married!”
I roared as I dragged Lu Tong into the elevator.
When Cheng Yu tried to follow, I blocked him and swiftly pressed the close button.
“So you want a divorce because of him?”
“Lu Tong, do you have any shame left?”
Hearing my question, Lu Tong actually burst out laughing.
“I don’t have any shame, but you do?”
“There’s Liang Wan, Jiang Yu–those I know about. What about the ones I don’t?”
“Zhou Heran, wasn’t it you who talked about open marriage? What are you looking for from me now, a sense of presence?”
She spoke slowly.
The elevator mirrored our two twisted figures, and in her eyes shimmered a light I couldn’t understand.
When the elevator doors opened, Lu Tong broke free from my hand.
“Zhou Heran, you can’t even lie to yourself anymore.”
The cold wind from the underground garage blew into my shirt.
I watched with my own eyes as Lu Tong walked toward Cheng Yu.
Cheng Yu fastened a red helmet on her head, his fingers skillfully buckling the strap.
The gesture was too intimate, so intimate it reminded me of the year we first fell in love, the first time I helped her tie her dance shoes.
