I was my brother’s child bride. The year I graduated, he roughly threw me onto the bed. Outside the bedroom door, my foster parents watched with smiles on their faces. “Stop watching. You’re putting me off my game.” He chased them away, then proceeded to slap himself hard across the face, but he told me to cry louder! I was so terrified I didn’t dare to breathe. A strange sound began to play from the phone on the nightstand, proving something to the people outside. Meanwhile, my brother lay quietly beside me. “Chunhe, do you want to keep studying?”
