Chapter 16
I clicked into Jiang Yi’s post and looked at the pictures he uploaded. Almost every item was something I had particularly liked and clicked “like” on at some point. He had bought them all for me. I had been so busy with this matter these past few days that I had neglected him. I sent him an emoji.
[“Sad” emoji.jpg]
Jiang Yi replied instantly. “Boohoohoohoohoohoo, wife, you finally paid attention to me!”
“I knew you weren’t avoiding me because you didn’t like me; you were just bothered by this whole situation.”
Me: [“Pat on the head” emoji.jpg]
The public opinion immediately reversed. Li Qingqing’s move was truly insidious. She wanted to use public opinion to silence me, to make me unable to speak out against the accusations. But I had been a “hot topic” for a while now, receiving a lot of attention. How could she possibly silence me? All she did was push herself into a pit of fire.
The next day, the department called me in for a talk. I looked coldly at Li Qingqing, who was begging me for forgiveness. “Yue, I was truly momentarily confused.”
“We usually have such a good relationship, and you often treat me to meals. You’ll definitely forgive me, right?”
I shook her hand off. “I will not reconcile.”
“Please handle this seriously.”
A week later, Li Qingqing was expelled from school. At the same time I received this satisfying news, Gu Ran sent me a message. “Come downstairs.”
Gu Ran stood next to his supercar. “No, didn’t I tell you to dress up beautifully?”
Gu Ran looked at me, wearing Hello Kitty pajamas and big flip-flops, standing in front of him, and completely broke down. “You’re wearing this?”
I showed off my adorable Hello Kitty pajamas to him. “What’s wrong? It’s so cute!”
“But don’t wear big flip-flops!!!”
Gu Ran stared at me in exasperation. He couldn’t do anything but push me into the passenger seat.
It wasn’t until he dropped me off at the beach that I belatedly realized.
As I got out of the car, dazzling fireworks were exploding in the sky above the beach.
Now it was my turn to freak out. “No way, you didn’t say it was going to be this formal!!!”
“Too late.” Gu Ran pushed me towards a figure sitting on the sand.
Jiang Yi sat on a high stool, holding a guitar. He watched me walk towards him step by step. He plucked the guitar strings. His clear voice blended with the sea breeze.
“Perhaps in a dream.”
“Perhaps seeing her smile.”
“Perhaps when she calls my name.”
“And then, in that moment, my heart moved.”
“I started to feel my heart move.”
…
Jiang Yi’s eyes seemed to hold stars. I stopped in front of him. The melody scattered in the wind.
So, I can directly get a handsome guy, a sports car, a huge apartment, and endless money?
He picked up a bouquet of flowers from the side and handed them to me. On top of the flowers lay a Porsche car key and a red property deed. “Didn’t you say a relationship should start with a bouquet of flowers?”
I nodded with a smile. Jiang Yi immediately turned his head away.
The bullet comments scrolled wildly.
[Female lead: smiling. Jiang Yi: impressive tactics.]
[A confession really comes with a sports car and a huge apartment! I can’t take it anymore; are there still activities like this? I want to participate too.]
[Author, you can’t stop here; give me 3,000 words of extra chapters!]
Jiang Yi cursed, “Damn, how can she be so beautiful?”
I glanced at my big pajamas, big flip-flops, and bare face. My smile deepened.
Jiang Yi turned back to me, his face red. “Shen Zhaoyue.”
I hummed in response.
“There’s a relationship I want to have with you.”
“Will you?”
The moment Jiang Yi finished speaking, the colorful fireworks in the sky reflected in each other’s eyes. My heart pounded like a drum.
“I will.”
