The Billionaire's Runaway Mistress and His Secret Heir - Chapter 18
Fu Tingshen’s Extra
I was only six years old when my grandfather found me at the orphanage.
He took my hand and asked, “What’s your name?”
I glanced at him. “None of your business.”
Instead of getting angry, he laughed.
“I’m your grandfather. Are you willing to come home with me?”
Home.
I thought I didn’t have a home.
The director said I was abandoned at the orphanage gates just after I was born.
I had imagined many possibilities.
Maybe I was stolen by bad people.
Maybe my family was too poor.
But I had never imagined that my mother had given birth to me and abandoned me at the orphanage as revenge after breaking up with my father.
It wasn’t until they had both passed away that my grandfather learned of my existence.
That’s why everyone in the Fu family called me a bastard.
Only my grandfather was good to me. He gave me a name and supported all my choices.
“Tingshen, you are a good child. The Fu Corporation will depend on you in the future.” These were the last words my grandfather said to me before he passed away.
I was only eighteen that year.
My grandfather transferred all 40% of his shares to me.
And I officially became a thorn in the side of my several uncles and aunts.
They were like insidious pests, wishing they could devour me whole.
To gain control of the company sooner, I spent six years completing my bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in finance.
At the age of twenty-four, with the large number of shares in my hands, I began to manage the company.
It was also that year that I met Chu Ning.
She was different from me; she had a name.
Her eyes were clean and pure, and when she looked at me, there was almost no desire in them.
She really didn’t seem like a child from an orphanage.
“Do you want to go to university?” I asked her.
The Fu Corporation sponsored a group of children, but I still asked her separately.
Her eyes lit up instantly.
As if she never expected anyone to choose her.
She studied very hard.
A bit like myself back then.
But my work kept me very busy, and I rarely paid her any special attention.
I saw her again at a celebration banquet.
She had her hair in a high ponytail and was wearing a clean white t-shirt, completely out of place at the event.
“Mr. Fu, this is Chu Ning, a university student sponsored by the Fu Corporation. She’s in her final year and will be joining the corporation soon.” The person beside me immediately explained when he saw my gaze fall on her.
I nodded.
Why invite a university student to a banquet like this?
Chu Ning might not have known, but I knew perfectly well.
Watching her pour me glass after glass of wine, I felt a little uneasy.
It was like watching a blank sheet of paper about to be stained black.
Sure enough.
When the party was ending, two old men cornered her.
I was about to leave, but I sighed.
“Chu Ning, right?” I beckoned to her with my finger.
Her face was pale, and she hurried over to me.
“Can you drive? Take me home.”
She lied.
She couldn’t drive.
In the end, she apologized to me while crying and accompanied me in a taxi.
Her eyes were red and watery as she looked at me.
Truly lethal.
Later, I forgot how many more times we met.
On a drunken night, I ultimately underestimated my own wicked thoughts.
Once a wicked thought begins, it’s hard to stop.
So I kept her.
In this circle, everyone had a golden canary.
It wasn’t a big deal for me to have one too.
But one day, this golden canary flew away.
It was a rainy day.
I had just finished dealing with those vipers at the family home and wanted to go back to see Chu Ning.
But I found she was gone.
All she left was a letter.
In the letter, she said she was only repaying my kindness, that she saw me as a boss who paid her salary, and she wished me well in finding a good partner in the future.
How wonderful.
I was so angry I smashed everything in the study.
The only thing I didn’t smash was the inkstone she gave me.
She hadn’t been just a golden canary for a long time; I just hadn’t realized it.
I hadn’t realized my heart had fluttered for her time and time again.
That I couldn’t resist her time and time again.
And I certainly hadn’t realized that it had to be her and no one else.
I searched for her for six whole years.
During those six years, I formed an alliance with Gu Qingye of the Gu Corporation and suppressed those vipers at the family home at every turn.
No one dared to object to me marrying her anymore.
And then, I finally got news of her.
News of a blind date.
Great.
She was living quite freely.
What I didn’t expect was that she wasn’t just finding a date for herself, but also a stepfather for my son.
My son.
I had never thought I would have a son.
That boy was exactly like me when I was a child.
It made me want to reach out and touch him.
He reprimanded me coldly, “Stay away from me and my mom.”
Exactly the same, indeed.
I was ruthless in business; everyone said I was impersonal.
I had all sorts of ways to keep Chu Ning and Chu Weiyi by my side.
But when Chu Ning cried and begged me to let her go, my hand, which was behind her back, clenched into a fist.
When did it start?
Although I was solely after his money, he was handsome and treated me well, which inevitably made my heart flutter on occasion.
Luckily, I got stabbed.
Otherwise, I really would have let them go.
Actually, the heavens are quite fair.
They didn’t give me parents, but they gave me Chu Ning and Chu Weiyi.
But this thought didn’t last long.
“Chu Weiyi.” I looked at the little boy who had appeared in my bed, my teeth gritted.
Hearing my voice, not only did the boy not get up, but he snuggled deeper into Chu Ning’s arms.
He put on an extremely wronged expression. “Mom, Daddy is being mean to me.”
He had learned his mother’s ultimate trick perfectly.
Chu Ning patted his back and scolded me with a smile, “He’s still a child.”
“He’s six, not a child anymore.”
I walked over and lifted the boy out of the bed.
“It’s my turn to sleep with Mom today.” I kicked him out and closed the door.
Just as Chu Weiyi started to cry, Chu Ning got out of bed.
She opened the door and let Chu Weiyi back onto the bed.
“The Fu Corporation is under audit these two days. I’m swamped and exhausted. Can you two not mess with me?” she said, like a little cat baring its claws.
Chu Weiyi and I obediently got into bed and went to sleep.
“Tingshen, do you want to change Weiyi’s name?” she suddenly asked as she was about to fall asleep.
I quietly moved Chu Weiyi to the side and hugged her. “No.”
“Chu Weiyi.” I closed my eyes and smiled. “It’s a good name.”
Weiyi.
The one and only.
Whether it was her or him.
They were my one and only.
