- Chapter 40 - What Kind of Woman Is She Now?
How did she fall asleep last night?
It seemed like right before she passed out, his stamina was still going strong, showing no signs of fatigue…
Li Juefeng, that perverted man!
Gu Xiaoai cursed silently in her heart as she tried to get up. Suddenly, an arm pressed down on her chest, pushing her back onto the bed.
Startled, she turned her head to look. Li Juefeng was lying beside her, sleeping on his stomach, with one arm draped over her body.
The blanket had slipped down to reveal his toned, bare back. His face tilted slightly toward her, his short hair disheveled and covering his forehead. Beneath his sharp brows, his eyes were softly closed, casting faint shadows with his long lashes. His high, prominent nose rested above thin, slightly pursed lips.
To be honest, Li Juefeng was devastatingly handsome-almost excessively so.
Unfortunately, his rotten, impossible personality completely ruined that perfect face of his.
Realizing she was being distracted by such a man, Gu Xiaoai shook her head quickly. She reached out, struggling to move his arm off her chest, but as soon as she shifted it, his hand fell back onto her again…
Frustrated, Gu Xiaoai tried to move his arm once more. But just then, Li Juefeng suddenly opened his eyes. His gaze-dark and intense-carried traces of drowsiness. “You’re awake?”
“Mm… Mmph…”
Before she could say anything more, he pulled her down and kissed her. After a long, deep kiss, Gu Xiaoai was a bit out of breath. She resisted the urge to wipe her mouth and instead said calmly, “I need to go to work.”
Without waiting for his response, Gu Xiaoai quickly got up from the bed and hurriedly slipped into a loose robe, afraid that he might wake up fully and turn beastly again. If that happened, she’d be missing work for sure today.
“You’re just a paparazzi. I’ll give you money and you can quit your job at the magazine publisher,” Li Juefeng said as he turned over and leaned half-sitting against the pillows, watching her hurriedly get dressed with a tone of mild dissatisfaction.
Quit her job? Showing up at home suddenly with a pile of money? Her uncle would be terrified for sure.
“I have no way to explain that to my uncle,” Gu Xiaoai retorted before darting into the bathroom. She grabbed a disposable toothbrush and furiously scrubbed her teeth, desperate to erase every trace of Li Juefeng’s presence.
But even after brushing until her gums bled and showering until her skin felt raw, his scent still lingered on her-in her mouth, on her body…
As if it couldn’t be washed away.
Apart from her heart, every part of her had been thoroughly claimed by Li Juefeng.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw her slightly disheveled long hair, clean features tinged with exhaustion, and an air of languidness. Her lips were a little swollen. Pulling at her collar, the faint but unmistakable kiss marks on her skin reminded her clearly what kind of woman she had now become.
