The Autistic Puppy: A Gentle Soul - Chapter 10
I didn’t expect Qin Yu to act so quickly.
That night, he sent me a message: [Tomorrow, I’ll come with the driver to pick you up. Can you come to my house for a meal? My parents want to meet you.]
Sitting in the car, I was so nervous that I clutched Qin Yu’s hand tightly, leaving red marks all over.
Qin Yu placed his hand on my wrist. He wasn’t good at comforting people, but he simply told me, “You’re great, everyone will like you.”
In a daze, I suddenly remembered when he once coldly told me, “Shameless.”
For some reason, my nerves suddenly calmed.
I had imagined many scenarios.
Like Qin Yu’s parents being aloof, casting cold glances at me.
Taking advantage of Qin Yu’s distraction, his mother might throw a check in my face, asking me to leave her son…
But when the car drove through the gates, I was still stunned.
Qin Yu’s parents stood in two rows, along with their servants, dressed in bright red clothes, as if attending someone’s wedding.
The campus belle stood in the center, holding a huge banner: “Welcome Miss Zhou Ruo, the savior of the Qin Family, to our humble abode.”
“Humble abode?”
I twitched my lips. Such a large villa, such luxurious decor, calling it a humble abode?
Qin Yu’s mother grabbed my arm, tears streaming down her face, almost kneeling before me.
“Ruo! You must stay with our Yu!”
“You don’t know how many psychiatrists I’ve found for him over the years, how many companions, regardless of gender, those kids couldn’t stay by Yu’s side for more than a week!”
Only you…” She paused, “such a tenacious, resilient, and interesting girl, could open Yu’s heart!”
I twitched my lips.
Auntie, what you actually meant was, someone as shameless as me could open his heart, right?
But I wasn’t angry, after all, this love was indeed something I ‘burgled’ my way into.
Not long after, Yang Chen moved away.
While chatting with Qin Yu on the phone, I walked out of the house as my dad asked me to take out the trash.
But as I opened the door, I bumped into Yang Chen moving his things.
I was slightly taken aback; he seemed to have lost some weight.
His gaze lingered on my face for a few seconds, with a sadness I couldn’t quite decipher.
I carried the trash downstairs.
Suddenly, Yang Chen’s voice came from behind: “Zhou Ruo.”
I turned my head.
Yang Chen stood at the top of the stairs, just as I had looked up to him countless times, high above, yet somehow different.
He slightly lowered his head, his voice trembling: “I’m sorry, if I had faced my feelings sooner, if I hadn’t used hurtful words to shame you… would you have continued to like me?”
I smiled at him, shook my head, and turned to continue downstairs.
On the phone, Qin Yu’s voice deepened.
“You promised me, not to talk to him.”
I clicked my tongue lightly.
“I didn’t say a word, did I?”
He took a deep breath.
“You shook your head.”
How did he know? Does he have to control even this?!
I widened my eyes, wondering if Prince Qin was getting a bit too spoiled lately.
I suddenly remembered, shortly after we became desk mates, he transferred some money to me.
To stop me from talking to Yang Chen.
Back then, he didn’t interact much with me, just declaring his territory.
“Qin Yu, when did you start liking me?”
I thought he wouldn’t answer this question.
But after two seconds of silence, his voice carried a gentle smile.
“From the first moment I looked up at you, sunlight spilled onto the desk, and I suddenly wanted to speak to you.”
