Chapter 10
After changing my name and identity, I led a completely different life abroad.
I successfully completed my studies and made quite a few friends.
The name Jiang Huaixu gradually faded from my life.
It wasn’t until I returned to my country that I realized his image in my memory had become blurry.
It felt like a long, long dream I once had.
Seven years had passed, and even the most profound emotions should have been smoothed over.
Yet, when I saw Jiang Huaixu again at the party, I couldn’t help but pause.
He was wearing a finely tailored suit, standing there with his eyes lowered, exuding an aura of aloof elegance.
“Wow, who could make you so captivated?” my colleague Jiang Yao teased, her mouth full of cake, following my gaze and then choking slightly, “Isn’t that President Jiang from Shengan Group?”
I snapped back to reality, my tone indifferent, “I wasn’t looking at anything, just thinking about our project’s investment matters.”
“Securing investment isn’t as interesting as the secrets of the wealthy, is it?”
Jiang Yao leaned closer, already familiar with launching into her gossip mode.
After several failed attempts to change the topic, I resigned myself to listening.
“This President Jiang took office three years ago, replaced the top management in five years, and now, seven years later, has turned Shengan into a leader in the new materials research field.”
“His iron-fisted approach is not only applied in business but also with Mrs. Jiang.”
I paused, “Mrs. Jiang… That Miss Lin?”
The past resurfaced, and I curled my lips with some irony, “Weren’t they supposed to be deeply in love?”
“That’s hard to say. How could true love be late for half the ceremony at a wedding watched by everyone?”
“Rumor has it they lived apart right after the wedding, and Mrs. Jiang made quite a fuss about it. Later, when several Lin Family projects were cut off, she quieted down.”
“But recently, Mrs. Jiang caused another uproar, even threatening suicide, which went viral!” Jiang Yao clicked her tongue twice, “Because someone gifted President Jiang a person at a private banquet.”
“The person looked ninety percent like his long-deceased white moonlight, how could Mrs. Jiang not go crazy?”
