chapter 4
To be honest, it took me quite a while to understand what he meant.
Because I didn’t absorb nutrients well as a child, I was undernourished and developed slowly. No matter how much I tried to make up for it later, I still looked younger than my peers.
So he thought I was underage and needed to inform my parents before making decisions.
Why did he assume I was underage?
I felt stifled.
He should have known that my status and his were worlds apart.
But he wasn’t afraid of me, nor did he revere me. He even dared to question my decisions, as if he thought I was just playing house.
Su Wantang always looked at Cheng Song with respect and admiration, as if she were gazing at her own deity and faith.
Cheng Song was quite pleased with this.
But Xu Sixian looked at me as if I were a little sister throwing a tantrum. He was underestimating me.
I got angry, so I suddenly stretched out my leg and kicked him.
It wasn’t hard, but my shoe flew off.
I used to throw tantrums like this, and whenever I did, Cheng Song would usually turn and leave, and everyone else would keep a respectful distance.
But Xu Sixian didn’t dodge.
He didn’t even move, and a light gray shoe print appeared on his pristine white shirt.
I was stunned for a few seconds, a little unused to it.
“I’ll support you, so you don’t need to tell anyone else,” I said slowly after pulling my leg back. “So you have to listen to me, come whenever I call.”
He was silent for a few seconds. Unexpectedly, he didn’t set any conditions. Instead, he squatted down and gently put my shoe back on for me.
“Alright.” Xu Sixian looked up at me. “I understand.”
I felt like he was sighing, but maybe he wasn’t.
After he left, I called for Uncle Chen.
“I had Jinji make a few pieces of clothing,” I said nonchalantly, touching the blanket on my knees. “Help me send them over.”
Jinji is a bespoke tailor shop, a symbol of status in all of A City.
Ordinary families have to wait in line, but the He Family doesn’t.
Uncle Chen instinctively asked, “Are they for Young Master Cheng…?”
Young Master Cheng?
I didn’t react at first, my mind filled only with the unsightly stain on Xu Sixian’s shirt.
Didn’t he know to dodge?
A birch tree looks bad with a black mark on it.
Uncle Chen knows me well. Seeing my expression, he naturally changed the name: “For Mr. Xu.”
A college freshman, called Mr.
I frowned. “Don’t call him Mr. Xu, call him…”
Uncle Chen bowed respectfully, waiting for my final word.
But I was stuck for a long time. “Just call him Xu… Xiaoshu!”
