Taboo Mage - Chapter 162 - Bull-Headed Evil Spirit
I waved my hand and glanced at my wound, which was indeed bleeding.
The Bull-Horn Monster in front of me was snorting through its large nostrils. I squinted for a better look; could it actually resemble the Bull Demon King from Chinese legends?
Except, why did this Bull Demon King look so grotesque… its drool was almost dripping to the ground.
Seeing that I was unharmed, the Bull-Horn Monster swung its claws and charged again. I pushed Du Jun aside and raised my copper coin sword to face it.
The spiritual power of the Bull-Horn Monster was much stronger than I had anticipated. After just a few parries with the copper coin sword, I quickly found myself struggling.
I took the opportunity to glance at Zhou Qifang. He wasn’t faring much better; he was facing something with three eyes.
I was taken aback for a moment. That thing, looking like a Vajra, was also an evil spirit? Why did these evil spirits from Thailand all resemble immortals…
Unexpectedly, while I was momentarily distracted, the eyes of the Bull-Horn Monster turned blood-red, and it lunged at me.
“Damn! A foreign ghost dares to act up on my turf in China!”
I yelled in anger, unsure where I summoned the courage, bit my finger until it bled, and let the blood drip onto the copper coin sword before charging forward.
The copper coin sword, stained with the blood of the Gu Family, was like a wound-up engine-its power not something an ordinary person could withstand.
Sure enough, as I rushed towards the Bull-Horn Monster wielding the sword with bloodied fingers, the creature flinched. Taking advantage of this, I swung down the sword. The Bull-Horn Monster instinctively dodged, but the blade grazed its horn.
One of the Bull-Horn Monster’s horns was cut off…
“Yes!” Chi Rui shouted excitedly from behind.
I had no time to respond. I turned and dashed toward the Bull-Horn Monster again, pulling out a string of Buddhist prayer beads from my chest pocket-the ones Jue Chi had given me before we left.
The Bull-Horn Monster raised its head and roared. I threw the prayer beads, and like they were drawn to a magnet, they encircled the Monster’s neck.
The Buddhist prayer beads wrapped around the neck of the Bull-Horn Monster, just like the monk’s headband on Sun Wukong, causing it to writhe in agony on the ground.
Seizing the opportunity, I leaped into the air, stepping off a nearby cabinet, and thrust the bloodstained copper coin sword directly towards the Bull-Horn Monster’s heart.
The Bull-Horn Monster rolled violently on the ground, and I was pulled down with it. Seeing it start to rise, I shouted to Chi Rui, “Hurry and chop its head off!”
Chi Rui quickly left Du Jun, who was clinging tightly to him, behind. He sprinted over, pulled the copper coin sword out of the Bull-Horn Monster, and stepped on the bloody cavity in its chest.
With a swift motion, the Bull-Horn Monster’s head rolled to the side.
I breathed a sigh of relief and pushed myself up with my arms. The Bull-Horn Monster was finally dealt with. I turned to check on Zhou Qifang.
Zhou Qifang was fiercely battling the evil spirit that looked like a Vajra. I rubbed my arm, injured by the Bull-Horn Monster, and took the copper coin sword from Chi Rui, charging towards the Vajra-like spirit.
When I reached Zhou Qifang, even before I could raise the copper coin sword, I saw Zhou Qifang suddenly kneel down, raising the vajra whip in both hands above his head, his gaze lowered.
What the hell is going on…
A renowned Buddha amulet master from Thailand kneeling to an evil spirit?
I stared in disbelief, standing still, seeing Zhou Qifang muttering something incomprehensible, presumably trying to communicate with the evil spirit.
The evil spirit slowly descended from the air, and astonishingly, Zhou Qifang’s vajra whip slowly rose and ended up in the spirit’s hand.
“You idiot! You’re giving your weapon to an evil spirit?” I shouted.
“Shut up!” Zhou Qifang shouted back in a low voice.
I pouted, unappreciated for my concern, deciding to mind my own business.
The evil spirit glanced at me, then gradually vanished into thin air. When the last wisp of white smoke disappeared from the living room, Zhou Qifang suddenly collapsed onto the floor, spitting out blood.
“Damn! Help him!”
I shouted, hoisting Zhou Qifang onto my back and sprinting upstairs.
Chi Rui followed closely behind, while Du Jun remained seated on the sofa, as if in a daze. I couldn’t worry about him now. Zhou Qifang was seriously injured and needed to be taken to the hospital immediately.
Chi Rui rummaged through cabinets until he found a first aid kit. We carefully examined Zhou Qifang’s body. When we removed his clothes, we discovered that his body was almost entirely covered in wounds.
Injuries were everywhere, absolutely horrifying.
I frowned, starting to understand why Zhou Qifang would rather give up his weapon to send away that evil spirit. Such a powerful evil spirit-I had never seen anything like it before.
Chi Rui, being skilled in treating wounds, adeptly cleaned Zhou Qifang’s injuries with gauze. Throwing away the final piece, he said gravely, “We need to get him to the hospital, it’s critical.”
I dashed downstairs, pulling Du Jun up. “Where’s the car? Go start it!”
Du Jun stared at me blankly, which ignited my frustration. I slapped him across the face and shouted, “Get the damn car! If we’re too late, I swear I’ll let a hundred ghosts haunt you! Scare you to death!”
That snapped Du Jun back to reality. He rushed with me to the garage without further delay.
Luckily, the garage was right under the small villa. As Du Jun and I pulled the car out, Chi Rui emerged from the entrance, carrying Zhou Qifang.
I hurriedly opened the backseat door. Chi Rui climbed in with Zhou Qifang, and we sped off to the nearest hospital.
Upon arriving, Chi Rui rushed Zhou Qifang straight to the emergency room. Du Jun and I found a spot in the corridor to sit, watching as Chi Rui was eventually ushered out by the doctors.
Over half an hour later, Zhou Qifang was wheeled out on a stretcher and taken to a ward. Chi Rui stayed by his bedside, while Du Jun was sent out to buy food.
As I watched this unfold, I couldn’t help but feel something was off. Chi Rui sat by the bed, staring intently at the prone Zhou Qifang. The scene looked oddly peculiar…
However strange it seemed, this wasn’t the right place for me to linger. So, I found an excuse to step outside for a smoke.
