With fewer distractions, I was able to focus all my energy on the exorcism Incantation. The puppet in my hands grew hotter, and Du Jun’s face in front of me was undergoing eerie transformations.

It seemed that the evil spirit was indeed close to completely possessing his body.

The smoke followed the red string and entered the puppet, which vibrated rapidly in my hands. I signaled Chi Rui to let go, then threw the puppet into the glutinous rice basin, took out the life amulet, cut a finger, and let the blood drip onto the amulet before inserting it back into the rice.

As soon as it was inserted, white smoke drifted out of the puppet’s head.

Finally, the evil spirit was forced into the puppet. I breathed a sigh of relief, wiped the cold sweat from my forehead, and glanced at Jue Chi.

Jue Chi released his imprisonment of Du Jun, who collapsed limply to the ground. Luckily, Chi Rui was quick to support him and helped him to the bed to lie down.

I handed the glutinous rice basin to Jue Chi. The task of exorcising was his to handle now. Jue Chi placed the Buddhist prayer beads into the basin and took it out to the balcony.

With everything finally handled, I turned to look at Du Jun on the bed; he had already fallen asleep. However, with the evil spirit gone, the dark energy around him was gradually fading.

“Hey, wait a minute, if you could subdue this evil spirit, why did you initially run off to Thailand?”

Chi Rui sat on a small sofa resting, suddenly looking up in confusion.

I shook my head, “It’s all because of this Du Jun. Initially, he said that the Buddha amulet was made in Thailand, so I figured that the evil spirit must be from Thailand too…”

“That doesn’t make sense either. Didn’t Jue Chi also see the Buddha amulet himself and agree to come to Thailand? Is there some other issue here?” Chi Rui sat up, furrowing his brows tightly.

I looked at him, agreeing that Taka’s actions were indeed contradictory.

On the balcony, Jue Chi was exorcising the evil spirit under the moonlight. I sat on the edge of the bed, watching Du Jun lying there, feeling as if there was still a crucial piece missing in the whole situation.

But it was precisely this missing piece that made everything seem clear yet left me feeling lost in a fog.

“Alright, let’s not think about it too much. Anyway, we’ve resolved one issue. Didn’t the fake Taka say he would talk to Zhou Qifang when he got back? Let’s wait and see what tricks he might have up his sleeve.”

I nodded, turning back to my room to rest. After everything that happened tonight, I really didn’t have the energy to deal with anything else.

Liao Qing had to catch a flight early the next morning, so he left with me as well.

I slept soundly until the next morning. When I woke up, the others were already sitting on the sofa in the living room.

As I came downstairs, Liao Qing was just standing up to say goodbye to everyone. When he saw me, he smiled and thanked us a few times before leaving with his suitcase.

The rest of us walked him to the door. Du Jun’s complexion had improved a lot, and he sat on the sofa, looking like he wanted to say something but hesitated. I guessed he might still want me to make him a life amulet.

Du Jun probably remembered the promise he made to me earlier. His eyes lingered on me for quite a while but he didn’t voice his request.

I turned to ask Jue Chi how the evil spirit was handled.

Jue Chi nodded, saying the evil spirit was difficult to exorcise, but he managed to handle it directly. I was surprised by his swift actions, as it seemed like he had become a different person.

In the past, he would always have a compassionate heart, thinking about whether there was a better way to properly settle these evil spirits, even if he ultimately had to send them off himself.

With one problem solved, it was time to deal with Taka.

According to Chi Rui’s plan, we should hold our position and wait for the other side to come to us, because all our advantages had turned into disadvantages. If we acted now, it would be like hitting a stone with an egg.

This time, I agreed with his point of view.

The four of us stayed in the room all day. To show his gratitude, Du Jun took us out to enjoy Thailand’s nightlife in the evening.

Jue Chi joined us for dinner but then returned to his room. Chi Rui and I were happily led by Du Jun to Bangkok’s most famous nightclub.

Apart from the Buddha amulets, Bangkok is also famous for its ladyboys. Coming to Thailand and not seeing a proper ladyboy performance would be a missed experience.
