Taboo Mage - Chapter 140 - A Brave Entry into the Villa
The trip to Thailand was truly embarrassing.
Upon hearing that even Du Jun had disappeared, I couldn’t help but punch the door panel and ask Liao Qing, “When did he realize that Du Jun was missing?”
Liao Qing told me that after Du Jun came to find me last night, he seemed absent-minded. Liao Qing assumed that I had another argument with Du Jun and didn’t ask much. It wasn’t until the next morning that he discovered Du Jun was gone.
I frowned and thought it over. If Du Jun wasn’t taken by Taka, then the only possibility was that he went to find Taka by himself.
Could it be that this bastard had suddenly figured it out?
Sitting on the bed and pondering for a while, I concluded that since I couldn’t agree to Taka’s demands, the only feasible plan was to break in and rescue him!
Once I made up my mind, as soon as night fell, I contacted Jue Chi through the little fox. This time took a bit longer; after informing Jue Chi of the rescue time, I began preparing things.
Since it was Taka’s place, it wouldn’t be easy to enter. He could skillfully manipulate those spirits, so surely, there would be some bizarre barriers set up inside the villa.
I scheduled the rescue for the next day during daylight. If the villa was guarded by an evil spirit, its spiritual power would be stronger at night, making it harder for me to save anyone.
Early the next morning, I told Liao Qing that I had some matters to handle, then left with the little fox.
The little fox had followed Jue Chi out, and it wasn’t until Jue Chi was taken to the villa that the little fox broke through Taka’s barrier to escape.
Therefore, having the little fox lead the way was the best option.
Taka’s villa was located on a mountain in the forest area of Bangkok. As soon as we entered the forest area, I sensed something was wrong. The entire forest was shrouded in a layer of thin mist.
A faint, indescribable fragrance permeated the air, distinctly different from the scent on the little fox. This smell was like durian-disgusting, yet inexplicably alluring.
It was truly a perverse scent…
I took out a mask from my backpack and put it on, then covered the head of the little fox with a transparent mesh bag. Together, we headed into the depths of the forest.
Although this was a famous villa area in Bangkok, there weren’t many people around early in the morning. There was a road for cars from the foot of the mountain to the top, but to avoid being detected by Taka, I chose to climb over from the back of the mountain.
The climb was arduous and long, but after reaching the top, a beautifully decorated three-story building came into view.
“Is this the place?” I crouched in the grass, staring at the small building ahead, and asked the little fox with a lowered voice.
The little fox squeaked a few times. I nodded and took out a copper coin sword from my backpack, then grabbed a few pieces of talisman paper and tucked them into the pockets of the little fox’s clothes.
Once ready, I quietly led the little fox, crouching low, towards the villa.
Outside the villa were three muscular men on guard: two at the door and one patrolling the lawn in front. All three were holding guns.
These were just the guards at the entrance. Given the size of the villa, who knows how many more were inside?
I pondered for a moment and retrieved a puppet from my bag. I tied a red string to the puppet and attached a yellow talisman to its body. The puppet moved its arms and legs slightly, stiffly stepping forward.
I placed puppets around the villa, letting them approach from different directions, while I hid nearby, constantly monitoring the surroundings.
The puppets were small and unlikely to attract much attention. I watched as the foremost puppet crept along the wall and slipped into the villa, allowing myself a sigh of relief.
The puppets went in first to scout, planning the next phase of the action.
The red string wrapped around the puppets was connected to the red string in my hand through a talismanic incantation. If something happened to the puppets inside, I would immediately feel it.
Suddenly, the red string on the far left snapped!
I frowned as my heart leaped into my throat. The blaring sound of an air raid siren erupted in my ears-it seemed the puppets had been discovered!
I quietly peeked out from the bushes and saw the three armed men at the door had hurriedly rushed into the villa. Sensing the timing was right, I signaled the little fox, and we stealthily made our way toward the villa.
The little fox, familiar with the route, led me to a back window of the villa. After climbing through the window, I realized we had entered a bathroom on the first floor. The stench was overwhelming.
I couldn’t help but cover my mouth, thinking to myself that Taka, with all the money he had made, really needed to hire a nanny to clean his bathroom properly.
The filthiest things of humans are ironically the best deterrents against evil spirits and the like.
If Taka had really placed other things in this villa, why would he leave his bathroom so disgusting? I was puzzled, but I could only set the thought aside for the moment.
Since I’m here, I might as well face it head-on…
I muttered to myself and took out the compass from my backpack. From it, I could tell that aside from the puppet that had been discovered, the other three were scattered in different locations.
However, the puppet on the third floor seemed to have encountered something and was staying in one spot. I decided to go directly to the third floor to see what was happening.
Unexpectedly, there were only a few security guards in the entire villa, and I didn’t encounter any as I made my way to the third floor.
Upon reaching the third floor, I searched for the puppet and eventually found traces of it in a corner room at the end of a corridor.
When I found it, the puppet was huddled in a corner, seemingly doing something unclear. I quickly approached and crouched down, noticing the red thread that had been wrapped around the puppet had vanished.
Realizing something was amiss, I quickly stood and was about to leave when the door slammed shut from the outside, plunging the room into darkness.
If I remembered correctly, I left at 8 AM and arrived at the villa at noon, a time when Yang Energy is at its peak.
However, I had clearly underestimated Taka. He had wrapped the entire villa in black cloth. From the moment I stepped inside, the cloth had descended from the roof, blocking out all sunlight.
That bastard! He was definitely prepared for me!
There was no turning back now. I reached into my backpack and grabbed the copper coin sword, holding it ready in my hand, staying alert for any movement around me.
Half an hour passed, and everything remained eerily silent. I began to wonder if Taka was deliberately trying to mislead me with a diversion.
