chapter 1
When Qi Sinian was very young, he studied calligraphy under a master and gained a senior fellow apprentice.
During his most difficult times, that senior helped him a lot.
So, when the senior passed away, he rushed there immediately.
A week later, he brought back an orphaned girl. She was his senior’s daughter and called him “Little Uncle.”
He raised her for two years.
When the girl turned eighteen, she had some drinks and suddenly confessed to him, saying, “Little Uncle, I like you.”
Qi Sinian’s face darkened as he shoved her head into the water.
“Are you sober now?” he asked.
He told me, “If I had known she harbored such feelings for me, I never would have taken her in.”
I nodded with a smile.
“Of course I believe you.”
But he was still afraid I would overthink things, so he sent the girl abroad the very next day.
He promised he would never let her return.
Everyone said Qi Sinian was cold-hearted.
But they didn’t know that the moment he sent her away, he called a friend overseas.
“Take good care of her. Don’t let her suffer or get hurt. Tell her to be good, and I’ll visit her when I have time.”
His friend didn’t understand. “If you’re so reluctant to let her go, why send her away?”
Qi Sinian smoked a cigarette, his voice low and raspy. “I don’t dare gamble. I’m afraid Ning Yan will hurt her if she loses it.”
The friend didn’t believe him. “How is that possible? At the end of the day, you’re just unwilling to let go of Ning Yan. After all, you two have been together for so many years.”
Qi Sinian curled his lips in a sarcastic smirk and said no more.
In everyone’s eyes, Ning Yan was the most docile and obedient person.
But only Qi Sinian knew just how terrifying she could be.
