Chapter 6
Wilder’s face froze, his eyes revealing shock.
I whispered, “I mean what I say, Wilder. From the moment I agreed to this, it was never about the money.”
“After the kiss, you can break up with me anytime.”
“I promise I won’t bother you again or show up in front of you.”
“I know you want to get rid of me. Anyway, we’ve kissed once, what’s another kiss?”
After speaking, I sniffed and stubbornly raised my eyes to look at Wilder.
Wilder hesitated, disbelief written all over his face, his words stuck.
If I asked for a million, he would agree without hesitation.
But asking to kiss him, he definitely wouldn’t agree.
I didn’t expect him to agree either. As I heard footsteps approaching from outside the door, I suddenly cupped Wilder’s face and kissed him fiercely.
Unlike the afternoon’s brief peck, Wilder was pressed into the sofa by me. His eyes widened, his hands tightly gripping my arms.
Then, there were hurried footsteps running away outside.
Until Margot’s figure completely disappeared from the curtain of the back garden, I swiftly released Wilder.
His eyes were dazed, lips slightly swollen, his gaze confused, somewhat exasperated as he got up, his voice hoarse.
“Bronte, you… you’re crazy!”
“Not wanting a million, but insisting on kissing me?”
I calmly wiped my lips with a tissue and nodded.
“Yes, if you have nothing else, you should go. I want to sleep.”
Wilder was stunned by my sudden change in demeanor. He pressed his lips tightly together, turned around, and slammed the door heavily.
[Oh my god, that was satisfying to watch. Bronte really knows how to kiss.]
[Help, the male lead got kissed by a minor character, someone save me.]
[It’s all the sofa’s fault for being too slippery, the male lead sank into it.]
[After all, it’s his first time kissing a woman, being bewildered is normal.]
[Crazy, not wanting a million, just a kiss, definitely a love-struck fool.]
[She’ll regret it tomorrow, giving up a million!]
[Poor female lead saw it, heartbroken, eyes swollen like walnuts.]
[Their relationship has always been like this, the female lead breaks up over small things.]
[This time is different, before the male lead couldn’t even glance at others without the female lead being upset.]
[Watch, it’s the female lead’s birthday soon, the male lead will try to make it up to her, right?]
I got up to check the door, ensuring Wilder hadn’t damaged it.
Since I just moved in, it wouldn’t be worth spending a fortune to replace the door. Luckily, it wasn’t broken.
Then I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth again, coldly looking at the Shaw Group clippings pasted on the bathroom wall.
