Chapter 4
Wilder was already tall, and I barely reached his chin. As I wrapped my arms around his neck, he bent down slightly, and I planted a kiss on him as if stamping a pig’s backside.
Not only did Wilder freeze, but the surrounding classmates erupted in a chorus of “ah” that echoed to the heavens.
Margot, who had been running over, stood frozen in place, her eyes wide with shock and tears, her lips trembling uncontrollably as she cried out, “Wilder!”
It was only then that Wilder snapped back to reality, trying to pull my hands away. As he reached out, I abruptly let go and stepped back with a faint smile, “Boyfriend’s stamp of approval.”
[I wish I were blind; the male lead is tainted!]
[He just got forcefully kissed by this girl, help!]
[His first kiss was meant to be saved for the female lead’s birthday the day after tomorrow, it’s ruined now.]
[Ugh! Serves the male lead right for chasing after this girl, getting kissed like that, it’s infuriating.]
[Am I the only one who thinks this minor character is resilient? She’s really endured a lot under pressure…]
I glanced at Margot, her tears streaming down like rain on a pear blossom, and she turned and ran away.
Wilder looked bewildered, wiping his lips haphazardly, and when he met my smiling gaze, he took a deep breath and swallowed his words.
That night, I didn’t return to the dormitory. First, I blocked Margot, then headed to the single room on the first floor I had rented last week near the school gate.
I had rented this place entirely to avoid hearing Margot’s incessant chatter about her and Wilder in the dormitory.
Moreover, the rent was very low; the previous landlord just wanted someone to help manage it, so I took it.
Lying on the bed, I could almost imagine Margot waiting for me to return to the dormitory.
After taking a shower, I sliced some fruit, curled up on the small sofa, and started reading. My phone buzzed with a few messages.
First, a roommate sent a cute emoji, followed by a question about where I was, saying Margot was looking for me.
Then, a message from an unknown number popped up with four words.
“Come out and talk!”
