I sobbed quietly in his arms, unable to hold it in.

I thought his return would mean sharp-tongued confrontation.

But no matter what, the desire to possess him has resurfaced in me.

I pleaded with him:

“President Xu, I want a puppy. Right now.”

Xu Qingye looked at me, the corners of his mouth curving up.

The green light came on, and people bustled past from both sides.

I guessed he might go and ask the young lady to let us walk her dog for a bit.

He didn’t.

Xu Qingye loosened his tie with one hand.

The navy-blue tie wrapped around his wrist as he casually tied a loop.

He held the other end of the tie out to me.

Then he blinked, raising a sly, wicked smile.

Imitating a puppy, he let out a low whimper.

“Woof.”

Goddamn it…

My cheeks flushed bright red in an instant.

A passing child tugged at her mother’s sleeve: “Mommy, so embarrassing.”

Xu Qingye’s playful side took over as he leaned closer to me.

“Mommy, do you want to take Puppy Xu home?”

“From now on, Puppy Xu will love only you.”

Ugh, the saying is true.

Handsome men really can be such trouble.

I blushed. “Have you spent the last few years studying in web novels or something?”

“Yeah, I learned a lot. If you’re willing, we can try everything from now on.”
