Six Years Later: Wrecking His World with Quadruplets - Chapter 209
Chapter 209
After leaving Ocean Park, Nan Zhiyi took Xianxian and Mumu back to Luyuan first.
Wanwan and Hengheng stayed with Sheng Shiyu and the others. They would be brought back later, once Old Master Di had left.
When they entered the house, Old Master Di and Old Master Nan were just about to have dinner.
Seeing the two little ones and Nan Zhiyi return, Old Master Di asked with a smile, “Did you have fun today?”
Xianxian nodded, his face beaming with joy. “It was great! Ocean Park is so much fun! We want to go out with Auntie again next time!”
Seeing the little fellow’s satisfied expression, Old Master Di was in high spirits as well. “Did you take any photos? Let Great-Grandfather have a look too.”
“We did,”
Nan Zhiyi spoke up. “I’ll send them to your phone!”
With all four children by her side today, she felt a sense of fulfillment like never before. Consequently, she had taken many photos throughout the day.
There were photos of the children in pairs and photos of all four together.
Sheng Shiyu and Annie hadn’t been idle either; their phone storage was nearly full.
Soon, she sent the photos to Old Master Di.
Seeing his great-grandson and great-granddaughter laughing so happily, Old Master Di’s heart softened. He couldn’t help but praise, “These are wonderful. They’re so cute! We should have taken them out more often. Look at how happy these two little darlings are!”
As he spoke, Old Master Di forwarded the photos to Di Shijing, who was currently abroad.
After putting his phone away, Old Master Di didn’t forget to ask, “Girl, why didn’t your two come back with you?”
Nan Zhiyi replied calmly, “They were clamoring to go play with their godmother. They’ll be back a bit later. They were so excited today that those two little ones just went wild with play…”
Old Master Di laughed upon hearing this, nodding with understanding. “Children are all like that. They love to play.”
Nan Zhiyi smiled and nodded in agreement.
After chatting for a while, Aunt Zhang came out of the kitchen carrying the last dish to the table and called everyone to eat.
After dinner, Old Master Di didn’t linger. He took the children and headed back to the Old Mansion.
Once they arrived home, he instructed the butler and the nanny to take the children for a bath.
After playing all day, they were surely exhausted.
The two little ones were very obedient and followed the butler of their own accord.
Just then, a bodyguard in a black suit entered from outside. “Old Master…”
He seemed to have something to report.
However, just as he spoke, Old Master Di’s phone rang first.
It was a call from Di Shijing.
Old Master Di raised a hand, signaling the bodyguard to wait, and answered the call first.
Di Shijing had just finished his work and had only now seen the photos Old Master Di sent earlier that evening.
Having worked non-stop for so many days, his voice was thick with fatigue. “Who took the children out today?”
Old Master Di didn’t hide it and told him directly, “Who else could it be? Zhiyi Girl, of course. I took the children to her house today, and it just so happened she was taking her two children out to play, so she took them along as well…”
He went on to describe the children’s moods. “You saw the photos. Children should be taken out to play more often. How boring is it for them to be cooped up at home all day, learning all sorts of skills?”
Di Shijing couldn’t help but remark, “Back then, when I was forced to learn all those skills and business management, why didn’t I hear you say that?”
The Old Master didn’t even have to think about it, his bias clearly showing. “How can you be the same as my precious great-grandson and great-granddaughter?”
Di Shijing was speechless and felt like hanging up the phone.
He endured it with effort and asked, “Are they home now?”
“They’ve been home for a while. What do you have to worry about when I’m looking after the children? It’s not like I’d lose them. I’m not like you!”
After saying that, Old Master Di asked about work. “Is everything going smoothly on your end?”
Di Shijing didn’t go into details, simply replying in a level voice, “With me handling it, what could possibly go wrong?”
“That’s fine, then.”
Old Master Di knew what his grandson was capable of, so he didn’t pry. In a rare display of familial affection, he instructed, “Take care of yourself while you’re busy.”
Di Shijing gave a brief hum of acknowledgement and hung up shortly after.
Only after putting his phone away did Old Master Di remember that the bodyguard was still standing nearby.
He looked up and asked, “Weren’t you about to say something?”
The bodyguard nodded, though his demeanor suddenly became hesitant. “It’s about the Young Master and Young Miss today…”
He seemed to be wavering.
Old Master Di was puzzled. “What? Did something happen today?”
Old Master Di had arranged for bodyguards to follow the children when Nan Zhiyi took them out to play during the day. However, they were instructed to follow from the shadows.
He simply didn’t want them to disturb Nan Zhiyi and the children while they were having fun.
Consequently, Nan Zhiyi and the children had no idea they were being followed all day.
The bodyguard looked conflicted, as if he didn’t know where to begin. Finally, he simply handed his phone to the Old Master. “It’s better if you see for yourself…”
Feeling even more confused, Old Master Di took the phone and looked down at the screen.
Displayed on the screen were photos taken at Ocean Park earlier that day.
In the frame, besides Nan Zhiyi and two other young women, there were four children.
Old Master Di’s eyes widened, initially thinking his vision was playing tricks on him.
The bodyguard prompted from the side, “There are more…”
Following the suggestion, Old Master Di swiped his finger across the screen.
The subsequent photos were taken at a closer range. They were much clearer, capturing the faces of the four children with sharp detail.
Old Master Di was utterly shocked. He turned to the bodyguard and asked urgently, “What… what is going on here? Is… is there something wrong with your phone’s camera?”
He couldn’t believe what he was seeing in the pictures.
The two boys and two girls were so similar…
The bodyguard replied honestly, “There’s nothing wrong with my phone. There really were another Young Miss and Young Master who looked exactly the same.”
Though the shock hadn’t yet faded, Old Master Di’s mind began to piece things together.
For instance, every time he had visited the Girl previously, he had never been able to see her children.
Now, the photos showed that those children were identical to the two from the Di Family.
In other words, the Girl had intentionally hidden the existence of the other two children!
Once he realized this, everything clicked into place.
There were no such things as coincidences in this world… only the truth being deliberately hidden.
And now that the truth had surfaced, it turned out he had two more great-grandchildren!
Back then, Little Nan hadn’t given birth to twins, but… quadruplets!!!
As he followed the logic to its conclusion, Old Master Di felt a mix of complex emotions and intense excitement.
At the same time, he was baffled.
Since Little Nan had kept two of the children, it meant she never intended to abandon the Di Family’s children.
So, why were Hengheng and Wanwan sent to them in the first place?
And did his eldest grandson know about the existence of the other two children?
His head was spinning with questions he couldn’t answer. Ignoring everything else, he immediately placed a call to Di Shijing.
Di Shijing picked up after a moment. “Grandfather, is there something else?”
Hadn’t they just hung up?
Suppressing his excitement, Old Master Di skipped the pleasantries and barked out, “Let me ask you-did you ever find out who delivered Hengheng and Wanwan to the Di Family years ago?”
Startled by the abrupt question, Di Shijing was clearly stunned. He asked in confusion, “Why are you suddenly asking about this?”
Old Master Di’s voice rose several octaves. “Don’t give me any nonsense! Just tell me, did you find them or not? Was it Little Nan who sent the children to the Di Family?”
