seven-year itch - Chapter 7
Zhou Qing’s gaze grew even more fervent.
She kissed me directly.
The moment her lips touched mine, I felt a drop of warm liquid slide down.
It was Zhou Qing’s tear.
In that instant, it felt as if my heart was gripped tightly by an invisible hand, a dull ache spreading within.
Until tonight, I had always regarded Zhou Qing as nothing more than a tool to vent my desires.
I had never thought of giving any emotion.
But just now.
The girl, crying, told me she loved me, said she wanted to be with me no matter what.
Such a sincere and passionate confession-I hadn’t experienced it for a long time.
Or perhaps, I had never experienced it at all.
With Jiang Wan, I was the one who pursued her.
It was passionate, it caused a sensation throughout the campus.
Back then, I truly wished I could give Jiang Wan all the best things in the world.
Because I had been through it, I understood it deeply.
I could understand how intensely Zhou Qing loved me, how deep her feelings ran.
I am thirty-five years old this year.
I’ve been married to Jiang Wan for seven years, and we have a five-year-old daughter.
In others’ eyes, my marriage is blissful, my family happy.
But only I know that the passion of our courtship years has long faded between Jiang Wan and me.
We often quarrel over trivial matters in daily life.
For example, even though I am now a company president worth over a hundred million, she still pinches every penny, arguing fiercely with others over a few thousand yuan of unaccounted property fees, making me lose all face.
For example, when our daughter was only a few months old, after working all day, I would come home and still have to help her look after the child, listening to her complain about how troublesome our daughter was, asking if my mom could come help. I couldn’t understand-wasn’t raising a child what a mother should do? What right did she have to complain, and how hard could it be to look after a child anyway? Could it possibly be harder than me working to support the family?
And for example, the once glamorous campus goddess, after having a child, no longer cared about her appearance, looking like a dowdy old woman, making it hard for me to feel any desire.
In contrast, Zhou Qing was simply an angel.
In daily life, she always centered everything around my feelings.
Such a proud person, yet she would please me again and again beneath me.
Whenever we had disagreements, she could always set aside her pride and accommodate my wishes.
Tonight was the first time she had bared her love for me so directly.
So even a man in his thirties could receive love.
While my buddies all fretted over their out-of-shape bodies, I had actually won the heart of a young woman.
Because of this, my heart trembled.
For a moment, I even wanted to let go of everything and be with her.
Through her skirt, I gripped Zhou Qing’s thigh, deepening the kiss.
In the end, I lost myself completely.
My most primitive desires were thoroughly unleashed.
I tore apart the evening dress and pressed her beneath me.
We went from the car to the hotel.
On the way, Jiang Wan called several times.
Seeing Jiang Wan’s name on the caller ID only made it feel more thrilling and drove me even wilder.
All the displeasure I felt from Jiang Wan, I turned into lust and poured it all onto Zhou Qing.
When it was finally over, Zhou Qing had sobered up.
Her body was covered in marks I had left, which gave me a sense of accomplishment.
Zhou Qing leaned against my chest, her eyes wet as she looked at me, her tone full of guilt.
“Sorry, I shouldn’t have drunk so much.”
She glanced at the time, hurriedly climbed out of bed, and started straightening my wrinkled suit.
As she tidied up, she said, “Go take a shower first. I’ll iron your clothes for you-when you’re done, you can go straight home.”
Zhou Qing’s thoughtfulness was enough to make one’s heart ache.
For some reason, I found myself irritated by Jiang Wan’s incessant calls.
I walked over and stopped Zhou Qing’s hands.
I lifted her onto the table and made love to her until dawn.
