seven-year itch - Chapter 4
Ever since we had a daughter, Jiang Wan always put her first in everything she did.
When she heard what I said, she naturally followed my lead and let it go.
Moreover, she had no idea about what was going on between Zhou Qing and me.
Zhou Qing was someone who knew her boundaries well.
She would never act out of line or show jealousy in front of Jiang Wan.
Seeing Jiang Wan nod, the tension in my heart gradually eased.
Almost instinctively, I withdrew my hand from her waist.
Jiang Wan’s expression froze for a moment.
She lowered her gaze, staring at the hand I had just pulled back, pursing her lips without saying anything.
Since she didn’t mention it, I naturally wouldn’t bring it up either.
I smiled and dismissed her.
“Alright, if there’s nothing else, you can go ahead and browse around. Assistant Zhou and I still have work to handle.”
Jiang Wan nodded.
As she turned to leave, Zhou Qing happened to step out of the fitting room, having just changed out of her evening gown.
The gentle and elegant woman from moments ago had now transformed into a sharp and capable professional.
A white suit paired with trousers, her black hair neatly tied up high, and a pair of black-rimmed glasses that concealed her alluring charm.
Anyone who saw her wouldn’t be able to associate Zhou Qing with being a mistress.
Even my brothers who were in the know couldn’t help but praise my discerning taste.
“Brother Ming, if we hadn’t seen Assistant Zhou in a bodycon dress with those big waves in private, we honestly wouldn’t dare to link her to being a mistress. One’s so professional, the other’s so seductive-you really know how to play it! With Assistant Zhou looking like this, even if you brought her in front of your sister-in-law, she wouldn’t suspect a thing.”
Sometimes, Zhou Qing’s versatility was part of the fun for us.
The two women locked eyes.
Zhou Qing bent slightly in a polite gesture and greeted Jiang Wan with a smile.
“Good evening, Madam.”
“My apologies for taking your place at the banquet.”
