Chapter 19

As Gu Yan led the group toward the conference room, his heart felt unbearably heavy.

Hesitation, anger, unwillingness… a myriad of emotions intertwined within him.

The moment his hand gripped the conference room door handle, he paused.

In those brief seconds, countless filthy images flashed through his mind.

Would they be completely naked?

Would he press her against the conference room table?

Just like in those countless unnoticed moments before, when he had done the same to Hu Feier.

Or would it be on the conference room sofa?

Finally, he took a deep breath, his expression hardening as he pushed the door open with a fierce determination.

But the instant the door swung open, what greeted his eyes was not the intense scene he had imagined.

The conference room was utterly silent, with no one in sight.

What struck him as odd, however, was the row of conference-use televisions lined up against the wall directly facing the door.

He turned his head to glance at Hu Feier.

His brows furrowed as he stared at her, silently questioning what was going on.

Hu Feier stood frozen in place, equally stunned.

At that moment, the row of television screens flickered to life.

What appeared on the screens was a scene that instantly seized everyone’s attention: the footage of Gu Yan and Hu Feier entangled in the baby’s room that day.

Though it was only a side view, it was enough to identify the individuals involved.

The visuals, paired with the accompanying audio, were so explicit and provocative that the onlookers couldn’t help but whisper among themselves.

Gu Yan felt a rush of blood surge straight to his head.

The veins on his temples bulged as he stormed forward, trembling hands yanking out the cables from the televisions one by one.

“This isn’t real! It’s doctored!” he muttered under his breath.

“Everyone, get out! Get the hell out!”

But not a single person at the doorway moved. They continued murmuring amongst themselves, casting incredulous glances at the frantic Gu Yan.

“Are you all deaf? I said get the hell out!” he roared, his voice filled with fury.
