Chapter 15
“Mrs. Yuan.”
The secretary seemed surprised to see me, as I rarely took the initiative to visit the company.
In everyone’s perception, I enjoy flower arranging, art exhibitions, and everything beautiful and entertaining, but I certainly don’t enjoy coming to this company building that fills one with a sense of urgency upon entering.
“Hello.” I wore a faint smile on my face, “I have some things in Yuan Chen’s office that I need to retrieve.”
The secretary, suspecting nothing, led me into the president’s office.
I looked around; the maternity pillow was gone, but I could still find some traces.
These were things I had never noticed before.
For instance, the fresh orchids on his desk; the corner of a hand-painted mouse pad peeking out from under the keyboard; two worn toy cars deep in the drawer; and a bottle of children’s lotion in the corner at the bottom of the bookshelf.
I turned to the secretary and asked, “Has a child been in this office?”
The secretary was momentarily stunned before answering, “Miss Jian sometimes brings her child to the company, and they might come in to play for a while.”
I nodded gently.
Jian Yi, the overseas market manager, returns to the country once a month for a few days, always bringing her child along.
Coincidentally, Yuan Chen’s current trip is also abroad.
Or rather, this shouldn’t be considered a business trip.
Perhaps it should be considered a family vacation?
