“I’ve been too busy with work lately, didn’t notice.” Jiang Ling’s voice pulled me back from my thoughts.

I didn’t know when he had sat down on the edge of the bed, adjusting the blanket for me, a hint of guilt in his eyes, “It won’t happen next time.”

I was still holding his phone, unable to resist asking, “Is it just because of work?”

“I really have nothing with Zhou Xuan.”

He took a cigarette from the drawer and lit it, his tone full of exhaustion.
