Chapter 63 - A Kiss Isn't Enough
After dinner, Tang Huaijin mentioned to his sister that he would be going to the calligraphy association for an assessment tomorrow and asked if she had any other plans.
Tang Yaoyao, dressed in her pajamas, was lazily leaning against Tang Huaijin while watching a variety show. Upon hearing this, she immediately lifted her head and looked at him with surprise, repeating, “Calligraphy association?”
She knew well that Jin was excellent at calligraphy. Their father had once dreamed of joining the calligraphy association, so this was like fulfilling his dream in a way.
“I’ve met someone influential. My club teacher is the president of the calligraphy association and recommended me for membership,” Tang Huaijin said with a smile, seeing his sister’s astonished expression.
“Then, Jin, you must properly thank them,” Tang Yaoyao said, not thinking too much about it. In her mind, the president of the calligraphy association was always an old man.
After saying this, she nodded and added, “I support you going. With your skills, you’ll definitely have no problem.” She had a good friend who was also skilled in calligraphy, though she wasn’t sure if they had joined the association.
Tang Huaijin nodded with a smile and asked, “Do you have any plans, sister? It’s just tomorrow afternoon, so I should be back in time for dinner.”
Tang Yaoyao thought for a moment and said, “I’ll ask Han Yaoyao, or maybe check in with other friends.”
“Here,” Tang Huaijin said, grabbing his backpack and pulling out a stack of printed drafts, handing them to his sister. “This is the first volume of my book. It’s written and proofread. If you have nothing to do tomorrow, you can take a look.”
“Really? Let me see,” Tang Yaoyao said, taking the drafts and leaning comfortably against Tang Huaijin as she began to read. As she read, her expression gradually became more serious. She sat up straight from his embrace, reading intently.
After getting absorbed for two pages, Tang Yaoyao finally put down the draft, took a deep breath, and looked at Tang Huaijin with eyes full of undisguised shock and joy. She asked incredulously, “Jin, you wrote this? For me?”
Seeing his beloved sister’s expression, Tang Huaijin felt extremely proud and smiled joyfully, saying, “Yes, I wrote it for you.”
Tang Yaoyao looked at the draft, half admiring and half reflecting, “I’ve helped publish many books, but none can compare to yours.”
“I can assure you, your book will be a hit, a big hit.”
After saying this, Tang Yaoyao looked at Tang Huaijin, her eyes sparkling with joy. She gently caressed his cheek and said softly, “My Jin has really grown up, it’s wonderful…”
Tang Huaijin placed his hand over his sister’s, smiled gently, and asked softly, “Sis, do you like this gift?”
Tang Yaoyao picked up the draft again, a determined glint in her eyes. “Jin, I promise to write a plan and book review worthy of your work.”
Tang Huaijin chuckled at his sister’s earnestness, teasing, “Need me to polish it up for you?”
“No way.” Yaoyao blushed, lightly tapping him with her foot in mock annoyance, clutching the draft to her chest. “I’ve decided. Tomorrow afternoon, when you head out, I’ll go to the office and use everything I’ve learned to perfect the plan.”
Huaijin glanced at the draft, feigning jealousy. “I wish I were that draft.”
“What draft?” Yaoyao blinked, momentarily confused. Following his gaze, her cheeks flushed a deep red as she awkwardly moved the draft aside. “I have no idea what you’re talking about…”
“Sigh…” Huaijin put on a dramatic show of disappointment. “I worked so hard to write a book for you, and I don’t even get a little reward. I’m exhausted, out of inspiration, can’t even think of the next volumes.”
Yaoyao knew he was just playing around, but seeing his feigned gloom, she blushed even more and mumbled, “Alright, I’ll give you a kiss…”
Huaijin wasted no time, wrapping his arms around his sister. He noticed the slight nervousness in her eyes and playfully brushed his nose against hers before gently pressing his lips to hers.
He lingered there, softly brushing against her lips, his tongue tentatively exploring. When Yaoyao remained still with her eyes closed, Huaijin slightly parted his lips, gently nibbling on hers.
“Mmm…” Yaoyao’s eyebrows knitted slightly, as if questioning his intentions.
Seizing the moment, Huaijin’s tongue darted forward, intertwining with hers.
“Mm~” Yaoyao murmured, her already flushed cheeks now a deeper shade of red, her eyes dreamy and slightly reproachful. Yet, she found herself lost in the forbidden sweetness of their shared moment, responding shyly yet alluringly.
After a while, Huaijin’s throat bobbed as he whispered hoarsely into her ear, “One kiss isn’t enough…”
Yaoyao, dazed from the kiss, mumbled, “What…”
Before she could fully process, his hands had stealthily moved to her chest, giving a gentle squeeze.
Her eyes flew open, a tingling sensation shooting from her sensitive skin to her brain, eliciting an involuntary gasp. “Ah…”
Her breathy voice, almost a lament, nearly set Huaijin ablaze, his breathing growing heavier.
Yaoyao, embarrassed by her own reaction, regained some clarity and, in a mix of shame and anger, pinched Huaijin’s waist, making him inhale sharply and release her.
Covering her flushed face, she shot him a half-angry, half-embarrassed glare, squirmed uncomfortably, and without a word of goodnight, dashed to her room. Soon, she was in the bathroom, taking a shower.
Huaijin rubbed his sore waist, glanced at his hand, and broke into a triumphant grin.
Saturday morning, Tang Yaoyao seemed like she hadn’t slept well, with faint dark circles under her fair face.
Not sure why.
Tang Huaijin felt a pang of concern looking at her, wanting to show some care, but was met with a fierce glare from his sister.
Uh-oh, she’s mad. He quickly put on a placating smile, speaking softly to appease her all morning. After making a delicious meal for her, she finally gave a reserved smile, forgiving her brother’s earlier misstep.
After lunch, they cozied up together, watching TV on the sofa. Tang Huaijin checked the time on his phone and said, “Sis, I should get going. The earlier I leave, the earlier I’ll be back.”
Actually, Shen Yiqiu had already been urging him during lunch, seemingly wanting to have a meal together before heading out, but Tang Huaijin had firmly refused.
No wildflower can compare to the fragrance of a home blossom.
Tang Yaoyao pouted in dissatisfaction, lazily rubbing her eyes. Lying on Tang Huaijin had been so comfortable that she felt sleepy. She got up from his embrace, stretched, and mumbled, “Jin, you’re so annoying. I’ll go change.”
“Go on, go on.” Tang Huaijin watched with a smile as his sister’s stretch revealed a small patch of her fair skin.
Her figure was truly remarkable, with a waist as slender as a water snake, yet not bony, giving a sense of supple strength. Whether up or down, the curves continued to swell, making one marvel at her allure.
Noticing Jin’s intent gaze, Tang Yaoyao’s peach blossom eyes narrowed with a bit of pride. Pretending not to notice, she twisted her waist a little more before giggling and running back to her room.
When she wasn’t going out with Tang Huaijin, she got ready quickly. He had barely spent any time on his phone before she came out with her small bag.
Tang Huaijin naturally extended his arm for her to hold, and the siblings walked into the elevator together.
Their home was on the tenth floor, and the elevator ran smoothly.
The digital display stopped at the 5th floor, and the elevator doors opened.
Tang Yaoyao’s breath caught, and she instinctively withdrew her hand from Tang Huaijin’s arm.
He glanced at her, pursed his lips, but said nothing.
It was Uncle Lin from the fifth floor, carrying his little grandson as he entered the elevator, greeting the siblings with a smile.
Tang Huaijin exchanged a few pleasantries, while Tang Yaoyao seemed a bit uneasy, her eyes darting around.
They pushed their electric scooter out of the complex. Tang Huaijin noticed that after leaving the elevator, his sister didn’t hold his arm again, even though she hadn’t been this flustered when seeing acquaintances before.
He looked at her, wanting to say something, but she averted her gaze instinctively, got on the scooter, and forced a smile at him, saying, “Well, I’ll be off then. Jin, do your best. I believe in you.”
“Okay…” Tang Huaijin responded, watching her leave with a lingering feeling that something was amiss.
