Chapter 108 - The Atmosphere Ruiner
Hearing the door open, Tang Yaoyao, who had been waiting impatiently, quickly slipped on her slippers and walked over, taking the bag from Tang Huaijin’s hand. She complained with a hint of dissatisfaction, “Jin, why are you back so late?”
Today’s events had left Tang Huaijin somewhat exhausted, but just as his sister never shared her grievances with him, he didn’t want to bring any negative energy to her. Forcing a smile, he said, “Oh, I got caught up playing on my phone and missed the last bus.”
Tang Yaoyao didn’t suspect anything; such things were quite normal. She playfully rolled her eyes at him and said softly, “Alright, go wash your hands and eat.”
“Mm, it’s been a while since you cooked, sis.” Tang Huaijin smiled, washed his hands in the bathroom, and sat down to eat.
Although Tang Huaijin acted normal, Tang Yaoyao, being his sister, knew him even better than he knew himself. She noticed his distraction, her brows furrowing slightly, but she said nothing, quietly accompanying her brother through the meal.
After dinner, Tang Huaijin wanted to wash the dishes, but his sister pushed him back onto the sofa, insisting he rest while she took the plates to the kitchen.
Tang Huaijin felt a wave of warmth in his heart, his mood easing considerably as he relaxed back on the sofa.
Tang Yaoyao returned with a plate of washed grapes, sitting next to Tang Huaijin. She picked up a grape with her slender fingers and brought it to his lips, softly saying, “Jin, you’ve worked hard.”
The juice of the grape burst in his mouth, sweet and tangy. Tang Huaijin closed his eyes in contentment, pulling his sister into his arms and inhaling her familiar scent, exhaling deeply.
His sister always understood him best. Tang Yaoyao gently stroked her brother’s hair, her fingers lightly massaging his scalp, her voice tender, “Jin, what’s wrong? Was today tough?”
Tang Huaijin, eyes closed, enjoyed his sister’s affection, murmuring, “It’s alright, just a lot going on lately…”
“Oh…” Tang Yaoyao responded softly, resting her head against Tang Huaijin’s chest, her voice sweet and gentle, “It’s okay, no matter how old you get, I’ll always be your sister. You can always come to me.”
“Mm…” Tang Huaijin felt a sweet warmth in his heart, lowering his head to plant a gentle kiss on his sister’s forehead.
Tang Yaoyao smiled softly, her eyes narrowing in contentment. Instinctively, she sniffed Tang Huaijin’s scent, her brows suddenly knitting together. She was about to tug at his collar for another sniff when Tang Huaijin instinctively hissed as her hand touched his neck.
Tang Yaoyao pulled his hand away, tugging at his collar, and when she saw the bite mark on his collarbone, her expression froze. Realizing what it was, her eyes turned cold, and she asked sharply, “Lin Ruoxi bit you? Where is she?”
Seeing Tang Yaoyao’s angry stance as if she were about to storm out to find Lin Ruoxi, Tang Huaijin quickly stopped her, saying, “Sis, listen to me.”
Tang Yaoyao pouted in displeasure, sitting back on the sofa with a huff, “Go on, how did you run into Lin Ruoxi?”
“…” Tang Huaijin sighed, “She transferred to Rose Elite High School too, always trying to get back together. Bai Yuerou and I pretended to be a couple partly because of this.”
Thinking of Lin Ruoxi’s last words, Tang Huaijin sighed, “As for the bite mark, I just pushed her too far. She probably won’t bother me anymore.”
“What gave her the right to bite you? And so hard, it’s bleeding!” Tang Yaoyao looked at the bite mark on his collarbone with a tinge of heartache, her eyes reddening slightly with anger, “Didn’t you two break up amicably? Why does she keep pestering you?”
Tang Huaijin quickly changed the subject, gently wrapping his arm around his sister’s waist, soothing her, “Alright, alright, sis, let’s not talk about her.”
“Let go, don’t touch me.” Tang Yaoyao scolded with a stern face, “You’re so big, yet you let her bite you? Aren’t you embarrassed?”
“Embarrassed, embarrassed.” Tang Huaijin nodded like a pecking chick, a flattering smile on his face, “I just wasn’t prepared.”
Seeing him like this, Tang Yaoyao, though still displeased, said no more. She could tell that for Lin Ruoxi to bite him so hard, she must have been truly hurt. She huffed, stood up to fetch iodine from a small cabinet, and gave him a glare, “Take off your shirt.”
“Okay.” It wasn’t too cold at home, so Tang Huaijin removed his sweatshirt, revealing a well-toned upper body. His muscles weren’t overly exaggerated, but his body fat was low, with smooth, defined lines, full, firm pectorals, and a prominent six-pack.
The system had endowed him with the peak physical condition of a human, making his physique even more perfect.
Tang Huaijin’s body had always been good, but not as impressive as now. Tang Yaoyao’s cheeks flushed slightly, thinking her brother was getting more handsome.
Clearing her throat, she pretended to be nonchalant, using a cotton swab to dab iodine on Tang Huaijin’s collarbone wound. Seeing him wince slightly, she asked with concern, “Does it hurt?”
“It’s okay.” Mainly, when she tugged at his collar earlier, it had reopened the scabbed wound.
After treating him, Tang Yaoyao gave him a playful glare, lightly patting his chest, “Don’t put your shirt on yet, let the iodine dry first.”
“Okay.” Tang Huaijin smiled, watching his sister throw the used cotton swab into the trash and screw the iodine bottle shut. He sneakily reached over, pulling her into a hug as he lay back on the sofa.
Tang Yaoyao’s face was pressed against his warm chest, turning beet red. She struggled to get up, scolding in embarrassment, “What are you doing, you rascal?”
Tang Huaijin chuckled, ignoring her protests, pulling her closer until she lay fully on top of him.
It had been a long time since Tang Yaoyao had scolded him like that, and Tang Huaijin found himself nostalgic for her serious expression.
When he was a mischievous child, his sister would scold him just like this.
Unfortunately, back then, he was too young to understand, always needing his sister to comfort him after being scolded.
Thinking of this, a surge of tenderness filled his heart, and he gently lowered his head, kissing his sister’s lips.
Tang Yaoyao initially resisted, her soft hands pushing against him, but soon she lost strength, her face reddening as her hands rested softly on his waist.
After a long while, Tang Yaoyao caught her breath, grabbing his mischievous hand, scolding with embarrassment, “You only know how to bully your sister. If you’re so capable, how did you let Lin Ruoxi bite you?”
“This isn’t bullying, sis.” Tang Huaijin said with a wronged expression, “I just saw you staring at me like your eyes were about to fall out.”
“Don’t talk nonsense.” Hearing this, Tang Yaoyao blushed furiously, covering Tang Huaijin’s mouth in embarrassment, “Are you crazy?”
Tang Huaijin, not wanting to truly upset his sister, chuckled and stopped teasing her, simply holding her gently.
Seeing him quiet down, Tang Yaoyao let out a soft hum, resting her head on his shoulder, her hand gently caressing his chest.
Neither sibling spoke, savoring the sweetness of the moment.
But soon, as Tang Yaoyao lay comfortably on her brother, she began to frown, giving him a playful slap on the shoulder. She climbed off him, stealing a glance before quickly looking away, scolding in embarrassment, “Jin, you atmosphere ruiner, I’m going to bed.”
Tang Huaijin, equally helpless, watched as his sister swayed her hips back to her room. He glanced down at his own body, scolding, “Atmosphere ruiner!”
