Chapter 9
I’ve just finished my motherhood plan.
In no time, little Tommy started attending kindergarten.
Turns out he was on summer vacation before.
Typically, private kindergartens like Tommy’s don’t have vacations, but most of the kids come from affluent families, and many parents wish to take time off to travel with their children.
Thinking of Tommy’s lonely figure playing puzzles downstairs that day, my heart felt as if I had swallowed a lemon.
I promised myself to take Tommy out to play in a couple of days.
During dinner, Tommy sat on his chair, swinging his little legs, and told me about his day at kindergarten.
After spending a few days together, he wasn’t as afraid of me anymore.
At bedtime, Tommy rarely asked to sleep with me.
He wore his dinosaur-patterned pajamas and obediently lay beside me.
“Mommy, tell a story.”
I took the book and improvised, “Once upon a time, there was a Snow Prince…”
After listening to the story, Tommy laughed and said, “Tommy is the Snow Prince! Mommy is the princess! Tommy wants to marry Mommy someday.”
I teased him, “But Mommy already has Daddy, so Tommy can’t marry Mommy.”
Unexpectedly, as soon as I finished speaking, Tommy’s mood suddenly turned gloomy.
Right, since I came here, Tommy has never mentioned Jonathan voluntarily. Could it be that Jonathan isn’t good to him?
So I tentatively asked, “Do you not like Daddy?”
Tommy shook his head vigorously, “I like Daddy, it’s just…”
The way he looked at me became somewhat cautious, the meaning was clear-it’s me who doesn’t like Jonathan.
That can’t be right.
