Chapter 15
Twenty minutes later, I appeared at the kindergarten entrance.
The reason was simple: I had been called in as a parent.
Inside the office, Tommy wore a stubborn expression.
Another child was crying loudly.
The teacher told me that Tommy was the one who pushed the other child first.
The child had a scratch on his hand, and their parents had already been notified.
I asked for the reason.
Tommy looked at me with a grievance, then buried his head in my arms, muttering, “He insulted Mom and wouldn’t apologize.”
For no reason, why would that kid insult me?
At this moment, the other child’s parents arrived, shouting, “Who dares to bully my son!”
It was a couple, and the man gave me a leering glance.
The woman immediately became displeased, picked up her son, and started ranting, “You’re Thomas’s mom, let me tell you, this isn’t over! Look at what you are, daring to bully my son.”
I raised an eyebrow and said, “Thomas pushing him was wrong, but your son was the one who spoke rudely first.”
The other child, seeing he had support, stopped crying, his eyes darting around before he said, “I didn’t insult anyone. Thomas’s mom is pretty, just a vixen and a mistress.”
Kids don’t understand what a mistress is; they probably heard it from adults.
“Little one, do you know that kids who insult others might have their tongues bitten off by a big bad wolf at night?”
The child immediately shut his mouth.
The woman sneered, “He’s just a kid, why scare him! My husband is the general manager of a big company, so what if our kid insults you a bit?”
As she spoke, she gave me a disdainful look, “Besides, the kid isn’t wrong. You weren’t around before, who knows what you do for a living.”
I mimicked her, looking her up and down, “Ugly and foul-mouthed. No wonder the kid hears such filth, must be someone barking at home every day.”
“Who are you calling a dog!”
Before I could react, she lunged to grab Tommy from my arms.
“You little brat! Come apologize to my son.”
I sidestepped, and the teacher, seeing the situation escalating, quickly intervened.
As the scene grew more chaotic, the woman aimed a slap at my face.
Suddenly, an arm reached out and firmly caught her hand.
“Are you here to solve the problem or to fight?”
Jonathan frowned, looking displeased.
The man, who had been watching the commotion, widened his eyes in shock, stammering, “M-Mr. Chase.”
He hurriedly pulled his wife back, starting to apologize profusely.
Jonathan said, “What a coincidence, I didn’t expect it to be Mr. Clark.”
It turned out that this so-called big company manager was a supplier Jonathan’s company had recently been in talks with.
His lifestyle was notoriously unrestrained, and his wife often cursed at home, leading their child astray.
Jonathan raised a hand, interrupting him, “Mr. Clark, that wasn’t your attitude just now. Instead of solving the problem, you seemed to be enjoying the show. If I hadn’t shown up in time, that slap would have landed on my wife’s face. I heard Thomas pushed your son, so let’s go to the hospital for a check-up, and we’ll cover the medical expenses. But before that, shouldn’t your family apologize to my wife and son?”
They immediately began nodding and bowing.
I disliked their behavior in front of the child, so I took Tommy and left.
