Summary
I picked up a handsome guy at the entrance of a psychiatric hospital. He was convinced he was a kitty, constantly demanding hugs and cuddles, and even tried to claw down my bathroom door while I was showering.
“Master, let me in,” he would cry out piteously.
Cats are afraid of water, and he was terrified I would drown under the showerhead.
Later, I stumbled across a video circulating online. It was a candid clip of the President of the Pei Group attending a charity gala earlier that year.
In a car that exuded low-key luxury, a man in a black shirt sat with an air of refined elegance. As he rolled up his cuffs, he cast a nonchalant glance toward the camera.
The video was filled with the sound of frantic screaming.
The man looked exactly like my kitty.
Looking at the gorgeous, sophisticated scoundrel on the screen, and then at the man beside me who was stealthily devouring the cream cake in my hand, my feelings were… complicated.
Thinking I was angry because he’d stolen a bite of the cake, he blinked innocently and gave my palm a placating lick.
“I’m sorry,” he rasped.
He wasn’t sorry at all; he’d definitely do it again.
