chapter 23
You reap what you sow.
By the time the fire was put out, it was already the middle of the night.
My phone was vibrating nonstop. I had no choice but to check my messages under Song Yan’s dark, brooding gaze.
Aside from a few inquiries from the tenant boys, the rest were all from Xuanxuan and Chen Jiajia. They were frantically @-ing me in our dorm group chat.
Xuanxuan: “Sisi, how did it go with the boys? Are you going to rent to them? You have to rent to that athlete, okay? Put him in the room next to mine. If he can’t afford it, give him a 50% discount, I’ll cover the rest.”
Chen Jiajia: “Sisi, say something! How did it go? Did you arrange for the two boys I picked? After you sign the Contract, remember to send me their WeChat. Just tell them I’m the beautiful neighbor, and lend me your white dress-I need to keep up my fairy image.”
They sent hundreds of messages, all along those lines.
Me: “…Let’s talk tomorrow, I just finished coaxing Song Yan.”
Xuanxuan: “You coaxed him this late? Impressive.”
Chen Jiajia: “I suggest you delete that. I’m jealous. I want to coax a boy too.”
Song Yan came up behind me, pressing close. “So, you’re running a matchmaking agency for your girlfriends now?”
I quickly turned off the screen. “You don’t get it. This is called sisterhood.”
Xuanxuan broke up a year ago, and Chen Jiajia has always been single.
Watching me and Song Yan flaunt our love every day, they were both getting a little sour.
I had no choice but to take this approach-using my resources to give my girls a shot at some quality guys.
Song Yan said sourly, “How about you move in with me, then? Just thinking about you at home every day, staring at those athletes’ abs, makes me jealous.”
“No way, I have to stay here to keep them safe.”
It’s all for my girls. Definitely not because I want to look.
“Really?” Song Yan’s warm palm slid over. “Then keep coaxing me, until you don’t want to look at abs ever again.”
Me: “!?”
