chapter 18
When I took the car back to the Villa, Song Yan was already asleep.
I tidied up a bit and went to bed as well.
It was just a transaction to begin with, so there was nothing to be angry about.
My emotional breakdown earlier was probably because some corner of my heart, clinging to hope, suddenly collapsed.
Early the next morning, I brought the mother and baby supplies I’d bought, got into Song Yan’s car, and went to serve his Mistress during her Postpartum Confinement.
When we reached the Hospital Room door, Song Yan stopped, “You go in first. I’ll be back in a bit.”
I nodded and went in by myself.
The woman in the Hospital Room was sleeping.
She looked about 28 or 29, her skin glowing white all over. She must be the woman I’d accidentally bumped into at the Shopping Mall last time.
I tried to put down my things as quietly as possible, but still managed to wake her.
The woman slowly propped herself up.
“Sister-in-law, why are you here? Where’s Song Yan?”
My heart felt sour. She called me Sister-in-law as naturally as if she’d known me for years.
As expected, rich men really can make women put aside old grudges and even call each other sisters.
“Hello, Cousin Sister.” I greeted her sensibly and started pouring her some hot water. “Song Yan said he’d be back soon and asked me to take care of you first.”
“No, no, just leave it there. You’re a guest, how could I let you take care of me?”
“It’s fine, Cousin Sister.” I gave a bitter smile and got to work.
Fine, I’ll just treat this as a nanny job.
Two hundred thousand a month-I’m not losing out at all.
I was just getting into the groove when a strange man walked in.
He went straight to the woman on the bed, sat beside her, and gently kissed her forehead. “How are you feeling? Still uncomfortable?”
The woman kissed his cheek. “I’m fine now, Baby.”
I was dumbfounded.
A love square?
Who’s cheating on whom?
Is this really the world of the rich?
At least have the decency to hide it from me.
I stood there, not daring to make a sound.
At that moment, Song Yan came in carrying a bunch of nutritional supplements.
The two on the bed were still cuddling together.
I felt a little excited inside.
Here it comes, here it comes-the moment of truth. Who’s wearing the green hat? The answer is about to be revealed.
Unexpectedly, the man on the bed greeted Song Yan calmly and warmly.
“Song Yan is here.”
The woman then scolded, “You’re something else, making Sister-in-law come here alone while you run off.”
“I’m here now, aren’t I? Besides, she insisted on serving you during your Postpartum Confinement. I couldn’t stop her.”
I was stunned.
Only then did Song Yan introduce me:
“This is my Cousin Sister, and this is my Cousin-in-law.”
Me: “…”
Damn!!
