Chapter 6
After tending to the wound, I threw away the pile of blood-stained and dirty paper balls in front of me.
I thought about it and decided to call Zhou Xuan.
He didn’t answer.
It wasn’t until an hour later that he called back.
When I picked up, there was silence on the other end, only his slightly hurried breathing echoing in the air.
I asked softly, “So, is it a breakup?”
“Li Jiangjiang, are you crazy?”
Zhou Xuan’s reaction was intense; he almost immediately started to scold me,
“Threatening me with a breakup after just a few arguments? How did you become so unreasonable?”
Tears fell instantly.
I thought of the past.
A year into our relationship, I had argued with Zhou Xuan.
Back then, I glared at him with red eyes: “If you think I’m not good enough, we can break up.”
He suddenly hugged me tightly, “I’ve never thought you were not good enough.”
“Jiangjiang, we’re just arguing. You can’t talk about breaking up with me.”
How did it come to this now?
Suddenly, I felt incredibly weary, said nothing, and silently hung up the phone.
When I woke up, the rain outside had stopped.
The house was empty.
Zhou Xuan hadn’t come back all night.
Probably because I got caught in the rain last night, my throat felt like it was scorched by fire.
My stomach was also in severe pain.
I found two pills and swallowed them with difficulty, then headed to school.
Zhou Xuan and I had been in a cold war for three days.
At noon in the canteen, Lin Xingyue suddenly sent a message.
“Jiangjiang, where are you? I’ll come find you for lunch.”
