Chapter 18: Qin Dong Teaches Ye Junyao a Lesson!
A young woman stepped out of the car. Her tailored black suit framed a striking figure, and her beauty was flawless. Yet her icy manner warned strangers to keep their distance. Another young woman emerged from the driver’s seat, dressed in black training clothes, her short hair framing a sharp gaze.
Zhao Kuo stared. Compared with the first woman, Xu Lei seemed utterly ordinary. The three guards were equally transfixed.
Ye Junyao strode to Qin Dong. Her cold expression melted into a gentle smile as she took his arm. “Sorry to keep you waiting, darling.”
Silence fell. Everyone stared, especially Zhao Kuo. How could a woman like her call a loser like Qin Dong her husband?
Even Qin Dong was astonished. Had she become a different person? Then he realized she was standing up for him. Touched, he impulsively slapped her backside. The sharp sound rang out. “You kept me waiting, woman. Don’t do it again!”
Ye Junyao froze, her face filling with disbelief and anger. The bastard had done that in public! Qin Dong, meanwhile, privately savored the moment. Zhao Kuo burned with jealousy: the familiarity made her relationship with Qin Dong look real.
The security captain finally recognized her. “You’re Miss Ye from Villa Nine?”
Suppressing the urge to kill Qin Dong on the spot, she said coldly, “Who else?”
The captain trembled and apologized repeatedly. “We didn’t know this gentleman was your husband.”
“Just this once. Don’t let it happen again.”
He thanked her and hurried away with his men. Ye Junyao turned back to Qin Dong with a knowing smile. “Darling, come inside. I’ll make it up to you properly.”
His heart sank. She was angry. He coughed. “All right. Let’s go in.”
She had ignored Zhao Kuo and Xu Lei entirely. Frustrated, Zhao Kuo called after her. “Miss, please wait.”
She stopped. “Yes?”
He dropped Xu Lei’s hand, adjusted his clothes, and put on what he thought was a gentlemanly smile. “I’m Zhao Kuo. My father is Zhao Youting, chairman of the Zhao Group. Could we be friends?”
He was determined to win this beautiful woman away from Qin Dong. Surely his identity would impress her.
“Sorry,” she said. “I haven’t heard of the Zhao Group, and I’m not interested in being your friend.”
His smile froze. Qin Dong nearly laughed aloud. The woman standing before Zhao Kuo was the very fiancée he had despised, and he didn’t recognize her. Qin Dong could only imagine his face when he learned the truth.
As Zhao Kuo struggled to recover, Ye Junyao said, “Wait. I think I have heard of you. I understand you have a fiancée. Is this her?” She glanced at Xu Lei.
Zhao Kuo shook his head vigorously. “You misunderstand. She’s just a classmate, an ordinary friend.”
Xu Lei’s face darkened. He hadn’t called her an ordinary friend when he’d made her call him “Daddy” in bed! He ignored her glare.
“You’re well informed. I do have a fiancée, but she’s short, fat, and ugly—a she-dinosaur. I don’t like her at all. I prefer someone like you.”
Qin Dong burst out laughing. Zhao Kuo glared. “What’s so funny?”
“Nothing, nothing.” Still suppressing his laughter, Qin Dong glanced at Ye Junyao. Anger flashed across her face. Anyone would resent being insulted like that in public.
She took a breath and smiled. “Really? Unfortunately, I’m hardly worthy of the Zhao Group’s distinguished young master.”
Before Zhao Kuo could continue flattering her, she walked into Villa Nine. Qin Dong gave him a look of contempt and followed, along with the woman in black.
Zhao Kuo watched them go, frustrated. Where had Qin Dong met her? He would find out who she was and win her over somehow.
Inside, Ye Junyao pointed at Qin Dong and addressed the woman in black. “Ling Shuang, disable that wandering hand of his!”
